Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

This is how Oracle treats employees from acquired companies

This is how Oracle treats employees from acquired companies:

  1. they send you a fedex to say whether you are in or out.
  2. they try to adopt the same culture as the acquired company and as time goes by, it completely fades and merges to the oracle culture. so like if you get bonuses every quarter, you will see that dwindle down to ZERO.
  3. then you get an oracle manager who knows SH-T.

in short, time for you to start figuring your if you want to stay or not.

That's nothing new... I used to work for a small French software company and got acquired by a big German software company. Painful stock squeeze-out, brutal culture assimilation, a letter telling you that your salary has been "re-adjusted" (i.e., pay cut), then re-org and reassigned under a kiss-axx jerk who knows nothing about the product while everyone treats you like a second-class citizen because you came from an acquired company. It’s not just Oracle. It happens everywhere.

In 2010, I got a "welcome to Oracle" letter. This is true.

We got emails with our new “offers” which was just the same title, salary, etc as before.

You mean they now fedex that stuff? Nice to be made of $$
