Come Be a Part of The Park at Berkeley Heights

I have to say, the Fiserv site strategy to build out a state-of-the-art Fintech hub at The Park in Berkeley Heights, NJ is brilliant. I have worked for a number of large companies in my career, and the focus on driving a stellar digital future at Fiserv is impressive. Check it out! This place is amazing. A fantastic gym, beautiful walking/running trails, tons of restaurants and shopping, close to NYC and the shore…

While staying ahead of the market on products and services is critical, the differentiating factor for any company’s success is the people. Companies need to both keep their associates engaged, and compete for talent in the market. Creating a modern, attractive, and dynamic environment where people can grow is paramount. Change is hard, but so worth it.

Kudos to Fiserv for focusing on what is best for associates and our clients in the future. Career growth and cutting edge technologies are here. It is going to be a great ride!

Frank, I hope your smelly campus gets overrun with 'rona and is permanently condemned. You absolute clown.

Are you kidding? I live in New Jersey and even I don’t want to work there!

Don’t forget if you want to just drop into NYC it’s $13 to cross the river. Kind of like Charon and the river Styx?
Of course once you’re there have fun with parking in NYC. And what a terrible place to drive about in.
Say you want to swing by the Jersey shore to see Snooki JWoww or catch up on The Situation. Toll roads all over NJ.
Add in local income taxes high property taxes and scenic winters while trying to dash into an office.
Hmmm who wouldn’t jump to Jersey?

You have to be pretty pathetic to take the offer to move to New Jersey

I was one of those who were "offered" a chance to move to New Jersey if I wanted to keep my job. It turns out that the relocation package wouldn't cover even half of the expense and that the cost of living was dramatically higher. Sales tax, income tax, and punitive property taxes make NJ a very undesirable location. Homeowners in NJ are paying more in property taxes for a similar home than I pay for mortgage, taxes, and insurance. Why would I ever consider leaving a low cost state to hand my paycheck over to the government of NJ? I chose option B. As would any sane person. Frank is a carpet bagger who has destroyed a company I worked for 15 years to build.

I work with people who are already in the new Berkeley Heights office. They have to go home to use teams (video) because the network connection speeds at this tech hub are so slow their video is choppy. I've also seen their office spaces and its like a boiler room situation with a bunch of tiny desks jammed into every nook and cranny. The brochure pictures look great but let's face it, those are staged for photo's and not even close to reality.

Moving from Georgia to NYState, near NJ ( and I grew up there ) is not cheap. Cost us $12000 minimum to make the trip earlier in 2019. It was a horrible experience in NY in every way and we moved back in 2021. So if you have a ton of cash in your account, making the move is easy, right?

Been to NJ was a sh-t ho-e then I’m sure nothing has changed. I’ll be staying where I’m at.

From Berkeley Heights it’s over an hour to Manhattan, more likely 90-120 minutes. Who realistically will relocate and then spend time driving in?

The increase in property taxes and income taxes over many other states will eat up any salary increase.

Nice, so they spend hundreds of millions of dollars on commercial real estate just to force people to come into the office to catch covid, after laying off 50% of the experienced employees while underpaying everyone else who remain.

Sounds logical.

@1efp+1e7OerX9 "I'm not sure how that little monitor will handle ten ssh sessions and twelve chat windows." What a weird point. First of all I use a tabbed terminal emulator, and my chat sessions are also tabbed. So that's all of two windows max for 22 items. Second, you talk to 12 people at once?! I talk to max 3. I think that's my only reason to say return to office is stupid, one of those people I've worked with for 4 years and never met in person, why do we suddenly need to be in the same room?

The images in that link look really nice, but they show a heck of a lot of people working ALONE. Not much collaboration to be seen. Sitting out on the grass with a laptop looks hip and cool, but I'm not sure how that little monitor will handle ten ssh sessions and twelve chat windows. Getting in a game of pool with colleagues sounds great, too, except that'll be tough to fit it in if everyone's working 10/12-hour days on site, or trying to catch the train home just so they can log in and work some more. One last point - how much will a salad or sandwich cost at one of the on-site eateries?

Move across the country or get fired with no severance. Yes very employee friendly. It may be others today, but it’ll be you one day

I left a few weeks back. With my new job, I work from home, they gave me an Iphone 12, my laptop arrived a week before my start date. I do not worry about my stress level, the people I work with are actually pleasant and happy to be working for this company. The environment is not toxic, cut throat and demeaning. Frank and Fiserv chose the current path of destruction of what once was a great company to work for with even better people. No more, the place is a shithole now and will remain that way until the CEO is gone. But by then its too late, the stock will be at $20 by then. Bye Bye Felicia. And FU FB.

Here's a fun exercise, get the address of every employee at fiserv. Now sort by distance to the new office.

Guess which employee will show up in first place at 2.3 miles. Come on guess!

The answer is some guy by the name of Frank Bisignano who bought the property in 2009.

Well I thought it was fun.

This is not an HR post. Those people are illiterate and too lazy to care about any of it. This is from one or more of the over-paid, glorified secretaries in Brand/corp comm. Nothing but time on their hands and no place else to go.

Do you honestly think this is rubbing salt in our wounds? Or do you get pleasure from it? Let me tell you, HR “I got nothing else to do” person, you’re in for a rude awakening when clients leave due to bad service, and you lose your job due to low performance and lack of revenue. Without clients, there’s no company. Without a company, there’s no job. Mark my words. Fiserv will not exist in about 2 years at the rate it’s going. It’s sad to watch but it’s the new proof point.

The Norcross CheckFree campus had much of that too less the Jersey shore. We did have a bowling alley and a racquetball court though. Our health benefits were great there too. Cafeteria was discounted and really good. Is Fiserv bringing any of that back? You know things we had 15 years ago?

I know. This place is amazing! First thing, I hit the gym. I got a great work out. Then to cool down, I walked on the trails. Then I needed to refuel so I went to a restaurant. #FiservFuel While I was eating I got a phone call. It was my boss. Turns out I am now fired because this is a work place and not a vacation. If anyone uses the fun stuff they will no longer be employed because this is a work place where work is supposed to happen. I guess HR must have forgotten what work actually is.

I was going to go shopping next, but now I can't afford to shop...

I've already stared my next role. You know what I got in the mail today? An iPhone 12. A phone! Like a fooking grown up! Not the cost-cut-to-the-bone BYOD cr-p.

Guess what else I did? I went to Control Panel->Program and Features and DID NOT see Sapience! Again, like a fooking grown up!

And really, stop the agitprop posts. They are nauseatingly saccharine and clearly written by the PR team. Just stop.

Here is a translation: "Come to the state of the art campus where is you badge in late by even a minute, your boss gets an immediate email and if you badge in late twice, you get a call from a VP. Come join the fun!"
