Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Next round?

Since some think that venting about the company that has been laying people off left and right is not on topic (spoiler alert: those two or three people are probably the only ones who feel that way) then let's throw them a bone and bring it back to the site's namesake: when's the next layoffs round expected to take place?

I hope this makes up for the trauma of having to go through 25 posts of your coworkers complaining about our jobs at one of the few places we can.

"This will also happen in the States once the office and infrastructure consolidations are completed."

Frank does Continuous Redundancies rather than "rounds".

The final phrase of agile transformation is taking place in EMEA. Large numbers of middle managers from directors down to team leads and PMs are being told their position will no longer exist in the new Scrum teams in 2021. No need for each department to have its own management hierarchy when when a single scrum master and a single single product owner can cover them all. Redundancies in February if middle management don't jump before they are pushed. This will also happen in the States once the office and infrastructure consolidations are completed.

Several of my colleagues were given a one year ‘transition’ plan this week. They have a year to train their replacements.

@omr+1e6MdGGg February was popular back in the day when Yabuki ran the show, and Frank seems the type to keep at least some traditions alive...

My magic 8 ball says Feb 2022. From what I've heard, FB is pushing for a sizable 'action' once a quarter.

No one on this site has a clue when the next round will be. But also the "next round" could be tomorrow and might be 10 people in an office you never heard of. This is a very large company with tons of offices. They won't do a massive layoff from every office all at once. If they did that they would need to tell the government in advance and you would be able to look it up, so instead they do a few people here and there over time.

That being said the next scheduled round of people leaving that I know of is January 3rd (or is it the 4th?) for anyone that didn't get the covid vaccine. However that was originally scheduled for next week, so who knows if that will be pushed back again. I don't think it's technically legal yet.
