Why do we have a quota during a supply crisis?

No 13 pros, no 13 pro max, no ipads, no Samsung tablets, no Samsung phones other than flips and folds, why do we even have a quota? And why is the quota based on previous year when we had devices in stock?

Without individual commission Verizon is losing so much business. The upper leadership haven’t a clue about this. Walking anything is a shameful practice in sales.

I’d worry about that if I had ever seen more than a couple of hundred dollar variation between paychecks since we went to team commission.

At this point, I’m more concerned that this lack of phone situation is doing permanent damage to foot traffic. But it seems like even if the phones were in stock they wouldn’t want us selling them anyway because they want to drive things online.

It’s a very artificial environment at this point. I must be missing something because a lot of aspiring people seem like it’s great we don’t have phones and turn people to digital with pride. I don’t aspire swim against the current much longer, but out of respect for those who do, I don’t turn people away and I try to give them as much assistance as I can even if they can’t immediately leave with what they are looking for.

But then I watch those who aspire to move up within the company so quickly turn customers away or to digital. So if they - wanting to stay or move up - don’t care to uncover what they are turning away from the store, then I don’t have much to say other than I think you don’t REALLY care about the future and are just focusing on dodging upgrades, or you don’t understand that turning away the bulk of your business (upgrades) and acting like putting up only new (a fraction of that number) is going to give you a future. But I think you are working very hard to either be surprised or disappointed.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I think it’s ironic to watch people be so serious about not doing upgrades and act like they are saving their jobs by doing so. It’s beyond obvious to me that is doing just the opposite. As far as sustainability goes, I’d think if you have to turn away something, do the upgrades and turn away the new lines. Statistically speaking, that’s retaining the majority of your customer base and monthly revenue (not speaking about ours, but the company as a whole). And as I said, there is little variation in at risk pay anyway, so I personally would be more concerned with the long term effects than a couple of hundred dollars in a month, but I’m fine with it either way. Just find it ironic that there is such a moral conviction to do what is clearly hurting the endgame.

Yup, then manager get to scold you for metrics. Leadership gets to not pay you for all your hard work. Sounds like their employee ra-e plan is working out really well for them.
