Back again after a while to remind everyone here just how useless Verizon management is in the stores are. They hide in the back or stand around and check people in to go back to playing on their phones....that's about it. And these bafoons make more than all of the reps getting dr-g through the mud on a daily basis. I've never witnessed such a inefficient company structure in my entire life. Give me a little raise Verizon and I promise you I'll easily take over checking a few boxes in and giving a few credits here or there and you can save a ton of money by keeping the bloated salaries you're depositing into these statues you call managers bank accounts.

The below post shows how the Verizon retail store management thinks and their management culture, frightening isn't it! Also, wow 45 hours a week in a retail management environment. Next you'll be telling us your reps do nothing and you also sell everything. Wow president cabinet and baby sitting, what a class guy just like your former Director.
I don’t know where you work but in NYC managers actually have to work. I have two stores and myself and my SMs work 45+ hours. We manage results, operations, Merch and baby sit reps who don’t like their jobs anymore but refuse to find a new job. I will be in Presidents Cabinet in a few months and trust me it’s not because I have hard working reps lol what a joke of a post.
Being a manager is way better. I get to watch you do all the work while I chill out. Your life sucks lol.
It's unfortunate that the original OP calls their retail management Baffoons and statues. This is not happening just lately but for many years now. Nepotism was at all time high a few years ago with promoting reps with high numbers with no management experience. Once they get the ast mgr job they get into lazy ways, hanging out, going home early or just taking advantage. It has been the retail mgmt culture for years now. The stores are in a mess now including supply chain problems! And they still continue with the anti employee survey and a quota system that are anti employee and customer. It's going to be a tough December.
Yeah I keep printing the most outrageous quotes hoping someone will notice that it doesn't really persuade anyone to switch but until then... let em walk!
Yes! My manager demands a produce quotes like this with the threat of documented action looming over every interaction. Its an awesome job.
It's easy to get them to walk. Just follow the directives. Getmore, VZMP-MD, VZP Home, and a tablet or a watch. When they complain it's more expensive then their other carrier offer the credit card. Then they leave and you complied with company objectives.
Nah I think reps just don't care anymore. They don't care if they close deals because they aren't incentivised enough to give a fu-k. And managers are hoping reps still care so they can make a paycheck even though all they do is check people into the queue all day. Honestly I'm not lazy but if processing a few new lines makes my commission check go up as little as it does then I don't really care if they walk honestly.
I actually think the opposite the management staff are the only ones that actually Carr about the customer experience. Most reps are lazy and lack product knowledge and watch movies and shows on their phones while the management staff does everything . A lot of reps couldn’t close a deal even if it was handed to them .
Welcome to Wichita!
I was thinking the same thing actually. On BF we had a long queue and by the time a customer got to me they waited an hour sometimes more. I noticed that if they were a new line they almost never had their port information. Then I thought, wouldn't it make sense if the managers who's only job is to check people in and post sales numbers could tell the customer to get said information while they waited. Okay I guess I can wait with them for another hour to call their previous carrier?
