Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

Imperial and Mental Health. Do they really care?

Imperial management and middle management keeps trying to convince us that they care about our mental health. At the same time while creating the same environment that creates mental health issues.
You are so out of touch.
Some advice to management. Just do not talk about mental health. It is easier than actually doing something about it.
Last thing I need is to take advice from an narcissistic psychopath engineer on mental health solutions and how much they care. Not buying it.
None of us are qualified to provide mental health advice. Let alone show genuine empathy.
So why pretend you know what your talking about.
We know you have a script to follow in order to keep your jobs.
Sad. Just sad.
Look in the mirror. Sad just sad.

But imperial just made de list of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. With a rating of “B” for Work Atmosphere & Communications.
Is the rating of “B” for BAD?

Imperial Oil ranking system, career gas lighting, layoffs, and ineffective management and corporate culture are main reasons for mental health issues. Nothing going to change with this XOM shell company. Losing to our competitors.

Is this a joke??? Imperial is now planning to donate $200k to mental health associations. Hope all this money is exclusive to support the mental health of imperial employees.
Here is a crazy idea. Why don’t you get rid of the people that create mental health stress at our workplace. This will save more than $200k in better working conditions, improved morale and increased productivity. Not to mention salary saving from bully managers.
I know. Crazy idea. Just trying to display the leadership behaviors this company ask us to show. Being creative an innovative.

Controller's is an example of a toxic organization and where open discrimination is evident. Incompetance is the norm, mainly at the supervisor level that is why employee attrition is so high. The scope of work is limited and repetitive and can easily be performed at any GBC at one fifth of the cost. For the past couple of years, the trend has been for females to be promoted to managerial positions. These are generally safe positions as usually there are experienced and qualified direct reports to ensure that nothing will go awry. This way the incompetant managers can take all the credit and shine in the rankings. Disgraceful as to how low our standards have fallen.

I hear the DS projects organization is a perfect example of toxic environment managers create and demotivate people
Fake leaders that are way above their heads. I feel bad for them
The upstream seems to be better. Just my observation

Tbh, the whole facade around diversity, mental health and wellbeing is a joke of appeasement toeing a scripted narrative. The toxic bosses and their narcissistic behavior is one of the prime cause of high stress, deteriorating mental health in workplace, and we have abundance of these incompetent clowns in upstream. For example, my last boss was technically d-mb, would manipulate-withhold information, steal credits for other's work or leaching himself to others ideas by citing "we", sets people to failure to cover up for his insecurities and intellectual deficiencies. And these are the people who are promoted as leads and end up giving moral lectures on integrity, ethics and mental health. Can't fix the system by the very same system. The worst of all the fake leaders shamelessly say that we won't retaliate for speaking up. A smart former employee once told me that they had higher chance of success working under circus monkeys than their useless bosses.
