Much like in NYC where "tens of thousands" would walk out and only like 40 did, I'm sure the same thing happend at NS.

I’ve seen more people stick together in a non union shop than at the railroad.

The walkouts were hilarious , the unions are only as strong as its people . Just like the unions the people in the unions have the backbone of a jelly fish . Next time you want to complain about the union look in the mirror its you . Their are unions that actually take a stand but not on the railroad . I am glad i am not their anymore . Your brothers and sisters are on the street because of psr ...what did you do NOTHING .

I was already scheduled off for the 26th, but I’m told they missed me just as much as if I was supposed to be there.

Strange, I always thought break was 9 - 10:30.

Some locations take break from 9:00 to 9:30. Are these people part of the Walkout?

They are doing it on their 10 minute break from 930 to 940. Then back to work.

If this issue isn’t the time and place to make a stand, then they own you. To me this is it. This whole company is corrupt as Washington. I know the mandate comes from Brandon. But how far, after all the PSR, are we going to just roll over and take it. Have a sick day or two, cause some chaos, cost them som record profits. Have some self respect.

I hate to agree with 2 cent, but he/she is exactly right. These top union officials are paid to keep their respective members moving along. Any real dissent is dealt with swiftly and harshly. The people posting on here about sticking together is the mentality we all need, however our direction has to come from some centralized body in order for us to be effective. But if the top people at the international have no intention of backing the locals we are dead on arrival. Good luck to all.

I asked one of my locals what the union intends on doing and all they could do is direct me to the faq page for the vaccine mandate. It was almost like an automated response. What do we pay these fools for?

When you have a strike vote that may as well have been 100% with two transportation unions a week later crickets ? You have a lawsuit drowning .. for unfair labor practices, mandatory vaccine’s because of paid bureaucrats . Corporate Greed and Ivy League lawyers are going to eat us for breakfast. If you haven’t realized this it’s a pay to play industry you’re seriously mistaken . The unions when I started meant something. If they don’t expose this industry for what they truly have become . You will understand dues mean nothing … Walk off today and you will not be protected. If you are leaving anyway let them burn 🔥

Play the game. Let them fire us all. I think this is the best play. Nobody will stand together on this. It has already forced people here to get it. It’s not about the vax. It’s about our rights ! About government over reach! Stand w me and do not file for exemption or tell them you are vaccinated. Let them sweat it out.

Your right. Our union has helped us so much over the last few years. I see no reason to not bend over and take another one. That’s right. Do not make a stand, just smile and say yes master. Do as your told. You are a company asset looked at the same as a locomotive.

Correct. This isn’t what NS wanted. In order to make a loud and clear statement to the federal government unfortunately will mean fallout for NS. Ask around….other companies whose employees are considered “federal contractors” and fall under the executive order it would seem have somehow found ways to offer alternatives to certain employees ie weekly testing or not required at all due to the nature of their positions…NS is saying the executive order requires every employee regardless of where they work or what they do must accept it. Rather odd that some companies seem to have a little wiggle room and discretion while others such as ours do not.

Whether your pro vaccine or anti vaccine, I don't really understand why everyone is blaming NS. It's the federal government. Apply for a religious or medical exemption by Nov 8. It's not rocket science

**** the NS! My question is, what has to happen to shut these pricks down? Do they have to cut off your arm? As----t your family? Pull you in a room and commit SO---Y? I'm serious, how much more worse does sh-t have to get?

Oct 22 (Reuters) - Norfolk Southern Railway Co has filed a lawsuit seeking to block its employees' unions from suing over a COVID-19 vaccine mandate and to prevent its workers from striking or picketing in protest of the requirement.
