Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

There are worse things

Honestly people. If the worst thing in your life is working for a company that is run by those who you don’t agree with then you have many things to consider. You could be on unemployment with no health insurance like the millions of others out there. You could have your house in foreclosure and trying to figure out how to provide for your children’s next meal. Consider how much better off you are than those more unfortunate and maybe you’ll see Fiserv in a different light. No matter my feeling I for one am grateful to be able to provide for my family because many others are not.

I guess you weren’t given the ultimatum to relocate or find a new job and to make that decision in <2 weeks

I’ve been employed for years and got no health insurance, not because I’d not offered, but because Is so expensive, I simply cannot afford it.

Health insurance is a joke even though the employer.

How dare people want better working conditions! Next you'll want Finserv to address the 183:1 CEO pay ratio.

Fiserv has served our family well for MANY years. There have been changes before but how this has been handled has been surprisingly unprofessional in every day. No information on the area we are asked to go to....no mention that this region is much more expensive as far as real estate and taxes than nearly anywhere people are getting asked to move from. The allowance offered for moving expenses will not cover a relocation. Asked to make a decision without any regional information- sight unseen. Besides all this- to leave friends, family and community - many of us learned from this pandemic- a deal made by an out of touch CEO is not worth the loss of things worth more than money. That said- at this moment there are many Fintech jobs available.

Another one of these?

Are things getting that desperate that you are worried you are losing too many employees?

To the OP, Fiserv is a Technology company, and lots of technology companies are hiring. Why settle for reduced pay, reduced benefits and just be thankful you have a job. You should really be looking around at better companies for increased pay, benefits, and not being part of the 6 month RIF'ed party.

Its an employees market at the moment - no need to be unemployed if you have FinTech experience.

FIS alone has 1,100 open positions just in the US.

Translation: 'Fiserv: It's better than being unemployed!'

Frank,

I know you're incompetent. I know you can't attract anything approaching talent these days (or any days, really).

But seriously, at this point, you really need to fire your brand managers.

Unemployment levels are not bad.

"In the week ending October 16, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 290,000, a decrease of 6,000 from the previous week's revised level. This is the lowest level for initial claims since March 14, 2020 when it was 256,000." - https://www.dol.gov/ui/data.pdf

I don't see why the alternative to a happy workplace should be the threat of no medical and home foreclosure. We should all thank the great one for allowing us to live. That's how communism works.
