Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Disconnect from reality…

Some of the posts talk about the Nirvana of quitting your job and getting this great new job at companies where profits don’t matter, clients are a mere afterthought and chocolate soda flows freely for all the wonks to eat until they split their pants…only to learn that almost everyone I know who left ended up worse off…cardboard box companies, old world publishers, cr---y software companies from England, perennial money losers…buyer beware.

Of course they're not storing your vaxx cards, but do you really know how secure Sedgwick is? No you don't because they will feed you marketing hype that no one argues with. They just sit up and take it. Time to stand up for your rights as a human being.

Fiserv is a government contractor so they have no choice but to follow the rules. Not saying it's right or wrong but look it up. Could they have announced sooner and given more advanced notice. I think yes. Also, Fiserv isn't storing your Vax cards they are going through Sedgewick for your responses whether I agree with the company or not they don't really have a choice on this one.

The 'Disconnect from reality' is in upper mgmt. I would happily stay on with Fiserv, even with its current issues, but no. Fiserv is now telling me that I have to relocate to another state or lose my job. Relocating is not an option for me for various reasons, so away I go, along with my multiple years of troubleshooting experience. Sure, I'll train my replacement to the best of my ability, but I can tell you that even after 6 months training, something will pop up after that time that my replacement will not be able to handle. In normal circumstances, they could have one of my longtime co-workers assist them.
But, wait. Oh, they are gone too. And their replacement can't help either.

Production facilities lost Holiday time off. Production workers are now required to work Holidays. How is this Nirvana?

I think you are delusional. Either you are an out of touch executive or a brainwashed minion. People who say things like "the grass isnt always greener" when discussing a career move are the half glass full people or fear mongers. Maybe both! Truth is, sometimes it is not greener BUT SOMETIMES IT IS!! And for me and many others that have left First Data in the past IT HAS BEEN GREENER! Now, unfortunately, I am dealing with the same bad CEO at Fiserv. There are companies where the employees matter. They aren't that hard to find.

Actually, there seems to be Nirvana out there right now, don't know why - where customers and employees matter. No company is perfect, but Fiserv is really down the ladder.

If you actually start looking and research who you are interviewing for and the position, there is a ton of work out there - interviews galore right now with better pay and benefits.

Now is the time to look, before the holidays season when everyone stops hiring for the end of the year.

Well, I can tell you i made a 70% increase in pay going to another tech company before the mass layoff's. You just need to invest in you. Fiserv is a place you go to get over worked and under-paid.

I personally didn't just quit, but i did look for the right opportunity for about 5 months.

Gee, all of my colleagues who left on their own did find better jobs and through networking together.

Also I put up a pleasant post the other day about the August 2017 solar eclipse and how that was indicative of the old Fiserv .... and it is gone. Somebody plays with these pages and comments.

See here’s the thing very slow person. People are being driven away. By forced relocation or actual firings or being worked 70 hours a week. The point is to control the situation, don’t let fiserv own you. Plenty of great for profit companies out there.
