I have it from pretty good sources that relocating will give you zero consideration on the next round of layoffs in late 2022. In fact they are treating people who relocate as extended transfer of knowledge. Once that is complete your usefulness is gone

My Dad worked in Big Pharma. When his company merged with another big company, they offered the legacy salesmen jobs in such nice places as Midland and Odessa, TX. He did the right thing and left the company. Those that stayed were systematically laid off by the bigger company.
I would only take a relo like this if it was to a city with a thriving job market. And use the move as a stepping stone to something bigger. But, given the red hot job market of the moment, that might not even be necessary. Lots of remote positions are being sent to me by recruiters. Good paying ones, too.
Yeah, this company would let you go without a second thought. I would not relocate for this group. Take the money and run.
That’s a good point. Relocate. Then get let go and have to pay THEM. A final kick in the nuts
Does that really surprise anyone? They stipulate you stay 2 years if they give you relocation $$, doesn't say they won't cut you loose. I wouldn't trust anyone in this company anymore. Bunch of id--ts leading this company to the edge of a cliff.
