Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Clients will suffer and then leave

'Our clients want greater collaboration and coordination... blah blah blah...'

Be truthful - our clients don't give a flying F where or how we accomplish tasks, as long as we get our work done and they are not inconvenienced. I haven't heard (in my groups) that errors have gone up since we have been remote.

Our clients are in fact getting better service because many people have been giving more than their scheduled hours to the job. We have been getting kudos on how well we have been working since being remote.

Now, multiple key people in my groups will be replaced with newbies because they cannot relocate. The remaining staff are facing overwork, sometimes long commutes, and other expenses, like extended childcare, they had not planned for.

I've already heard comments from people in multiple groups about only giving the required 8 hours and no more since they don't feel appreciated.

I can't relocate, so I'm out. But it sounds like some people that are expected to remain won't be far behind me.

This does not bode well for our clients.

Spot on, clients will suffer because workforce will be decimated. Who’s gonna do all the work? Just go into maintenance mode? This is a Fortune 208 company, not tiny mom and pop shop.

No one cares about the clients

This is not true. There were a ton of great people who cared for our clients. When you instill a sense of fear in your employees with perpetual RIFs, by not appreciating them and forcing cross country moves, those people move on to better opportunities. All that remains are overworked and lose their motivation.

Best of luck to any of this companies clients moving forward.
