I have worked at Humana for 7 years. In the beginning it was great. I am grateful for that time and people I met. Fast forward to the last 2-3 years. The more you do the more they want. When Humana was sued over not paying hourly wages I did not take part because I felt some loyalty to Humana. I have never had that in return. In fact what I get now is a message that I will be vaccinated by Jan 14 or terminated!! 7 years of loyal service. I work from home!!! Ask for an exemption and it’s like a lottery. Your lucky if you get it. Also, odd that Pfizer can be on Humana’s board, is that not a conflict of interest. And you tell me I have to get the Jab. Then brings me to the weekly message from Bruce, him bragging about his vacations, his kids... blah, blah, blah. If I made 16 million a year I would be able to have a vacation too. But I am to busy making Humana money. Not Humane.... Humana

I left Humana back in 2018, jumping ship to join another company that ironically laid off 2,500 employees after Humana did not renew their contract with my new company in 2020. Then I moved on to a brand new company that is experiencing rapid growth in telephonic case management. Think $10,000 more in salary a year, a reasonable work load and much more approachable management. This is a smaller company, not big like Humana, Centene or Anthem. The company has its issues of course, but it is light years better to its employees than Humana ever was. There are truly greener pastures out there.
Nurses who were moved over into new positions from Humana at Home where we worked are hourly employees. They are still hourly employees working in the UM positions they have now
WAH UM concurrent and told exempt so if you WAH why aren’t you exempt? Are they picking and choosing which WAH gets exempt? Sounds like another law suit for unequal treatment and discrimination
....glad to see folks are seeing the 'real' face of humana....get out as fast as you can, leave them to self-destruct. one of the worst working experiences I have ever had.
Ah, but the grass IS greener on the other side! There are many job openings with other companies who will respect your autonomy and embrace the true diversity of thought. Have courage to take the leap or live in fear of the next metric/audit/RIF.
And regarding the vaccine, if you work for the government business side you are mandated under the federal executive order even if you work at home. If they pass the new mandate if employers over 100, this may effect everyone as well. Take care everyone.
If you work at home you do not have to get the vaccine.
What was the change in the vaccine policy?
I think nurses need to think like businesses think. Tenure means only one thing and that’s complacency. Having worked for Humana and in corporate America, change is good and even better when you make the change instead of employer. Take control of your future. Don’t leave it in the hands of a company who , despite all you do , won’t remember you tomorrow.
Yeah, be greatful you still have a job.
At least you weren’t RIF’d….and they announced a change in the vaccine policy….did you miss the email?
