I was part of the layoff and my last day was Thursday. I was told site consolidation and cost cutting were the reasons I was being laid off. My job was posted on Linkedin on Friday with an advisor title instead of the manager title I held so I'm betting $50-60k a year salary instead of the $80k I was making. The cost cutting part was accurate I guess.

Advisor is the same pay grade as a manager just without direct reports.
Sorry you lost your job. I bet you find something better in the long run.
"then why not just re-apply?"
translation: "Then why not just take a 25% pay cut? You're sc-m and you're lucky to have any job with us at all."
With attitudes like the one displayed with that callous sentence, is it any wonder why there are dozens of people on here telling their stories about this place?
"then why not just re-apply?"
A clown car reject in every crowd always exists. The first rule of being laid off is to never reapply to the apocalyptic scchhit schnizzle that laid you off in the first place. To @OP+1dn3iZ74 who made the original post, I'm sorry if this layoff has cost you unnecessary setbacks. Many of us posting here understand the real implications of forced departures. You have my absolute best wishes.
then why not just re-apply?
wow, that's really scummy. same role, less title, less pay
