Does EM Internship count towards Pension Service?

Does anyone know if the time spent as an intern counts towards the 5-years of service required to vest in the Pension plan?

Check the yearly total remuneration site that is updated each year. It should say where you are at.

Counting towards 401k vesting/vacations is completely separate from counting towards the pension.

It does not count towards the pension. You can get time towards your vacation (you're screwed if you have 15-18 years of experience) up to a max of 10 years. You can get it towards the vesting 401k if you were a contractor at an xom location supervised by xom.

Nobody gets pension time unless you were a direct employee fulltime.

Experienced hires lose in the vacation game...

No it does not. Only towards vacation and vesting. Not pension.

Only counts for vacation, not for pension

Do not listen to the shills.
It does NOT count.
Regrets that you even have this concern.
Minutes do matter, I suppose in modern ways.

Not sure why folks are posting that it doesn’t count. I did multiple internships with the company. I and many others I interned with got it counted towards time with the company. I got my third week of vacation a year earlier than other people who started at the same time as me, and it was awesome.

Absolutely does not - not a single day of your internship is 'on the books.'
You could Intern 2 summers, then go Contractor for 5 years including international travel, a by-line in a technical papers and months of hazardous duty.
Then they offer you a Job.
That's Day One for pensions and whatnot.

on the other hand, you had a few months with a Big.
it was funny, wasn't it?

(apologies if you actually took the Job. All in fun!)

“intellectual level and greed”? I am glad the person posting works as a volunteer for XOM 😂
Many folks at the edge of five years be careful. Don’t gamble with this, quit and lose the vesting. XOM benefits help line can’t be trusted as their mistakes are not binding.
Good luck

Yes, but it only counts in full month increments. If you had an internship that was 2 months and 29 days you’ll get two months towards pension/401K vesting, and vacation. If you check out the compensation and benefits statement you should be able to see where you are on all of these.
