Network Assurance head count cut target

A couple of frustrated managers have been sharing with their direct reports that the directors have been given the number of people they have to RIF from their teams. It is a small number, from a large pool of people, but the choice is theirs and they are obviously discussing the cuts with the managers. If you want to be considered for a RIF package now is the time to volunteer, while they are still discussing it.

@7nfi+1dkrq1yU That poster is full of cr@p! The poster claims one hand NO over time, there is NO over time. Therefor this means this person works a 40 hour week! Then they go on and claim "squeeze us to an unhealthy limit". Um... just how are you being squeeze us to an unhealthy limit in a 40 hour work week? But law you have to have breaks and lunches and if you are like most of us field techs you spend at least 2 to 3 hours a day driving around.

What this poster is actually saying is they think a 40 hour work week is abuse and "squeeze us to an unhealthy limit". What they really want is a 20 hour work week and to be paid the same money they would get paid for a 40 hour week.

It's idots like that poster that is the problem here, not Verizon! I mean complaining about a 40 hour work week... STFU!

OT!!?? We have not been allowed to do OT in years except for an outage. We have not backfilled in about 2-3 years even for tech's who have passed away.NO not due to COVID either well before COVID! Yes we are short handed but they still find a way to squeeze us to an unhealthy limit. And I don't doubt they will try to cut even more just for the he-l of it.

We are extremely short handed! That is why it is so unbelievable that they are scheduling a RIF. Ask your peers, the powers to be have not backfilled Covid deaths on teams that are stretched to the limit. The RIF information comes from disgruntled managers repeating what was discussed in their meetings. This has been heard from multiple market Sr. Managers.

this is rubbish, there will be no reduction in head count in Field Ops. In fact we need to hire techs in field ops because we are so short handed. my group works on average 10 to 15 hours OT a week just to stay afloat.
