Covid-19 shot

Ha. Verizon is trying to force us to get the vaccine. It's big time illegal. Let the lawsuits begin

I'm not an anti-vaxr. My issue is that we are being forced into a corner to make life-changing decisions, unless we take the jab of a medication that was created, brought to market and distributed to the public within months, without extensive testing or, at that time, FDA approval. Our freedoms are being slowly taken -- some states don't allow unvaccinated to enter places of business, there are discussions of not being able to go to grocery stores and soon, no domestic air/train travel, or cruises. There are still adverse reactions being reported, fast-tracking that took place to meet government deadlines (and why is Congress exempt?) and the companies creating the jabs have no liabilities! What I don't understand, is if you are still able to get COVID and give it to someone else even if you've had the jab, the what's the point?!?! And please don't tell me that the jab lessens the severity of the virus....it affects everyone differently (virus & vaccines), including my family member who took the jab (both doses), contracted COVID and died 3 weeks later in the hospital. If you want the jab, get it, but no force those that don't want it.

They will have to fire me, 24 years with the company. I had covid and I am not getting a shot because I just got tested last week and I have antibodies greater than most people that get the shot. I will not pump chemicals into my body that is not needed.

Grow up, no one is forcing you to get the vaccine. Business have every right to require you to be vaccinated. Just like they have a right to not serve you without shirts or shoes. The government isn’t saying you need to get the vaccine or we will arrest you. That would be infringement on our rights. You have every right to not get the vaccine, quit your job or get let go, and go kick rocks with flip flops. If we eradicated this virus then no one would have to get a booster, use your head.

You didn't know the same union already rolled over in at&T and Tmob? They are requiring union members too. The union didn't protect them, they threw member under the bus.

Not illegal. The Supreme Court ruled in Jacobson v Mass that a private employer has the right to mandate vaccines as terms of employment.

A union cannot help, the only reason they are not included at this time is due to the agreement that they be given six months notice and the expiration of their contract. To those saying executive orders are not laws, you are correct, however they have the force of law unless an actual FEDERAL law in existence conflicts with that order. The CDC and FDA have widespread statutory authority to issue requirements regarding vaccinations for a variety of circumstances. For those in Texas, the governor issued an executive order, the Presidents order supersedes any state order, just like federal law supercedes state law.

Good luck with your lawsuits those who think it’s illegal, I’d start looking outside before you get too high and mighty, everyone is requiring it of new hires

It's not illegal. Vz is following an executive mandate. This will go to the Supreme Court eventually and it will rule just like it did for the smallpox vaccine back in 1905. That case of course held up a state's ability to enforce compulsory vaccines. This time it will be at the federal level.

It obviously is helping because they are exempt.

Post from TheLayoff.com

they aren't exempt, they have to go through a process to move forward.

Can the Union actually help in this manner or are their hands tied?
