Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

The issue is with managers

The verbal abuse is out of control in claims. It is stressful for the employee and their colleagues and their families. HR used to be involved in these situations, but they no longer get involved. The sad part is it is not necessary. Most employees are reasonable when a company is going through changes. The managers do not have to use excuses and verbally attack their employees to complete their own agenda. SF need to take a good look at their management and weed out some, but who will they find to replace them with. Not many people want that job anymore. And why do they continuously set up injury claims to fail?

We were always told go to the companies across the street. This in the face of we'd like to stay here but we need more opportunties locally and money that is consistent with the area. We're doing good work, raising the bar everytime, take more responsibility as they suggested, and they make promises of more money and they don't materialize.

Face it most CS and CA employees are the cream of the cr-p. It is a minor miracle anything gets done.

File a compliance report. Watch them do nothing but paper push and blame you. Easy to cover up real issues at State Farm with that process

A joke and a shame

Here’s just one example…how about telling your whole team “Good Luck standing in line at McDonald’s trying to get a job”…Oh, and another stand up demanding the team tell you who bashed you in the survey…This is just a taste. Pretty sad.

Why start a new thread on the same topic without ever answering the question about defining what is seen as verbal abuse? I work in claims and have not had my TM scream at me, belittle me or call me names, to me that is verbal abuse. I have been told when I have done something wrong however and that is not verbal abuse. I agree the environment sucks in claims but how about something to substantiate the allegation instead of just throwing a bo-b into the party and running away.

It doesn’t help when you let managers know things aren’t working and they brush it off like it’s no big deal.

Employees need to ask themselves. Does State Farm offer a good quality of life? Is it really worth the physical and mental harm the job brings? If the answer is no, leave. Don't try and fix it because "they" really don't care. You are a file and a number in their eyes in today's environment. I don't foresee that changing.
