Treatment of women

Why is it that the big (and little) boys at Enbridge continue treat women so poorly? Despite everything we’ve been through. I guess it’s because they can. No one stops them.

Token female USR gets treated like gold. Can say and do whatever they want. In the good old days she’d run home crying. But maybe I’m just a $&@“head right? NS

Yall should really get over to scm, if you're female you'll get promoted! However, if you're one of the fellas, well you're SOL. But ladies...scm is ready to move you up!...well assuming you came from slum-burger...then it's a 100% certainty you'll move right on up! But if you ain't- there's a 75% chance you'll move up quickly!!!!

If you are a woman and your dad is in senior management then you will treated like a champ . In fact given promotions ahead of everyone else regardless of your performance. Seen it happen at LUG. Nepotism’s at its finest.

Enbridge motto: Nice guys and gals finish last....... despite their motivation, productivity, creativity, work ethic and motivation.

Always watch your back at Enbridge, and every other workplace for that matter. There is always someone lurking about to take you down.

You know what intelligent, kind, decent, non-manipulative, non-bullying, non-narcissistic people do once they’ve had enough and can’t take it anymore? Leave. Take that, Enbridge.

What burns me is people (usually male “leaders,” but they can be female) who take credit for others’ work and ideas. They talk, talk, talk about how great they are, but when it comes to actually getting anything done, it’s always the lowly types doing the actual lifting.

And what company (the one you’re proud to work for) might that be?

Not disputing the current state of lack of women. They (and any company) aren't going to fire leaders for not being women just to add women to the leadership. It's no secret that oil&gas is mostly old white men. I'm proud to work for a company that values diversity and doesn't want just "old white men" leading it

Browsing for women in positions of authority. It's one imperfect measure of the inherent sexism in a company.

Oil and Gas has been notoriously dominated by old white men. You can't ki-l that beast easily... but incrementally.

Browsing what, exactly? Names? No one has the title of bully. Not saying I don't think it happens, just that it's too vague to take seriously. Maybe describe without naming names? What are they bullying you to do or not do?

It's not the company that treats you poorly, it's the individual that does / has. Unless you do something to correct that individual bad behavior, nothing will change. Complaining on here, but doing nothing will change nothing.

This topic keeps coming up and it’s difficult to discuss without naming names and providing clear examples. In general, men have a much easier time at Enbridge and elsewhere. At the same time, it’s true that bullies/ narcissists can be found across the gender spectrum, and that they are over represented at Enbridge. Every single one of them has played a role in ki----g whatever joy I may have had at work and given me an ulcer. They exhaust me.

Can't do that while retaining anonymity. But the org chart is public information. Do a little browsing.

I've had woman leaders, I've hired women. In my time at Enbridge, there was even a time when my leadership chain from the front line to the C-level were all women. Right now it's about 50%.

News about the toxic culture at the Royal Canadian Mint leaves me with the same sick feeling I get from working at Enbridge.

Those manipulative bloodsuckers will bleed you dry if you let them. Most of them don’t even know what they are, just know that their mission is to destroy you. AM and all ELT members count among their ranks. You’ve got to learn how to protect yourself. Not very easy for most who aren’t of the same ilk. They feed on decent people.

Bully is another word for narcissist. Enbridge is full of them and they exist along the entire gender spectrum. My advice is to watch your back and learn how to fight dirty.

I’ll just say here the I now record meetings with certain individuals.

It’s true that sexism continues unabated, albeit in ways that are less blatant than they were even five years ago. What I’m now finding interesting (and horrifying) to observe is that certain women now use the same micro-bullying tactics on weak men and weak women. I don’t know how the weaklings can stomach it here.
