Years ago I was helping with onboarding a recently acquired business. It was a small company so bringing them into big company life wasn’t easy. I traveled 1-3 times a month to the site. Eventually the pressure started to get me to move. My pay at the time was poor, the cost of living at the new site was a lot higher than where I lived. My commute was 10 minutes, moving would increase it to 30-60 minutes. I decided to quit, they offered me a different job and didn’t make me move. Management changed and closed the office. They pushed me very hard to move, the best decision I made was not to, as that office closed a couple years later. How many mergers, reorganizations and leadership changes have happened the last 6-7 years. What happens when Frank decides to move to Florida and makes all 3,000 in NJ move with him? The only time I would consider moving to NJ is if I was in my 20’s and had no friends or family. Asking anyone else to move is extremely ignorant for an existing job. I left Fiserv a year ago. Best decision I ever made. I am sad though as 3 or so years ago I really respected Fiserv. Now I hate it.
