Is this announcement still on for next week? Any particulars that you can share?

It must be dependent upon your geo. EMEA employee here, working in office when local restrictions lifted was pushed very hard by in-country leadership. As a B10 I was constantly questioned why I wasn’t setting a good example by returning to the office (to sit in a mask all day in an unheated, unairconditioned, damp office with no free food or drinks? Even when there wasn’t a pandemic I never wanted to go in!) I heard there will be an even harder push on returning to the office in January as a part of this “new IBM” cr-p that’s being announced.

Fake news. There is no announcement or requirement. The decision is dependent on your business unit and more specifically your manager and role. Most of CIO is not going back to the office at all in 2022

Glad I left that $hithole a few years back. Unfortunately IBM is irrelevant except for maybe 500 customers stuck using moldy mainframes…. GTFO as soon as you can, the market in incredible…of course there’s still dead weight there and so many empty suits full of jargon nonsense…though I have seen some leaving lately…most likely they’ll be moving every 1-2 years since it will be apparent most Ibm execs are content free….LMFAO….

Why don't you have your wife post some of the stuff on this forum... would love to hear it the BS that is going on.

I don't even work for IBM. My wife does. HR for over 30 years. The stories I've heard, and the money she makes is crazy. She is recession proof. I've been retired for over 10 years living it large in Atlanta. I just love watching this site from my golf cart and laughing at all you DMFs. You think your so smart but for the past 30 years when I have to go to parties with you clowns I can always tell you apart from everyone else. They're having fun and you id--ts are standing together... and you can't even talk to one another with your heads up your @$$es. So smart yet so stupid. I just laugh behind my thousand dollar glasses and perfect teeth. You wouldn't believe the Exec bene plan. Stay arrogant and ignorant. Keeps me in the green! Hahahaa

@8cbf
Rest assure your wish shall be granted. Btw you only had one so forget about a new job. Especially when you have been let go by IBM. Your resume will filtered away And if by chance you even get an interview They will see that glowing L on your forehead, even on Zoom.

"Nothing like putting yourself on the first RA list"

With an RA comes severance pay so that's a good thin.
Anything is better than coming in the office working alongside you.

It's all a ruse. You will be RAed before 6/22

Nothing like putting yourself on the first RA list. Your "accommodations" will be the exit sign you dum@$$es.

Most people who requested accommodations to the shot are told to WFH exclusively through June 2022.

Not sure how that affects the implementation of this return to office plan. Whether it’s to single out those with accommodations or just scrap the office idea for now.

@6sej+1dYnq2rb

"If AK can't generate revenue he will do anything to cut costs and save his @$$. "

That has been the modus operandi of IBM for the past 10 years at least. It will not change because revenues will very likely decline or be flat at best.

"where worded", you must be part of the team huh. Take the nonsense BS posts elsewhere, 100% not true in any way.

Now you are finally getting the point. Everyone keeps asking, where are the big layoffs he appropriated billions for? Its exponentially cheaper for IBM if you leave. Between the mandate and forcing people back to the office AK will get what he wants. A mass exodus that will reduce the cost of RAs coming in 1Q.

Wfh will be up to local team managers to decide. Vaccine is still required because you won’t HAVE to wfh and you can still go in the office to work.

what difference does it make to IBM if I'm vaccinated or not?

IBM management doesn't want employees dying, even at home, until we can transfer our knowledge to our low-cost replacements.

So if "WFH is here to stay," then why still enforce a Vaccination mandate?? If I never associate with my colleagues or customers in person, what difference does it make to IBM if I'm vaccinated or not?

how the Omnicron variant will affect AK's big plans to herd everyone back into jail?

100% WFH is here to stay and not some pipe dream hybrid model.
Too many have left the big cities due to COL and will not return.

Wonder how the Omnicron (shouldn't it be the greek letter Xi....oh wait) variant will affect AK's big plans to herd everyone back into jail. I've actually worked longer days WFH and I get more done for IBM. I dont have long commutes, save on gas (aren't we a green company?) and save wear and tear on my car. I guess all of that is common sense, so IBM isn't doing it anymore.

You are fools King Curry is not backing down on the mandate and IBM is saddled with lease contracts that are decades long and 100s of millions You won't see him in any cafeterias but you be lining up for the sneeze salad for a cr---y paycheck

I think the OP's post can be filed under BS simply because of they way they worded it. "Enjoy these last weeks." "Get ready." Just a generic statement, nothing of substance.

I think WFH is here to stay Didn’t AK just do an interview where he said “I don’t care what hours you work, or where you work just so the work gets done”

Maybe it WAS the plan, but Omicron just sh@t all over that plan. Looks like we'll be WFH for quite awhile now.

The new variants are coming... stock market is crashing... European countries are locking down and blocking flights from more and more countries... it is going to be a mess again... it will be the same in the US... You really think we are going back to offices any time soon? You are just fooling yourself.

This is not fake news people. My personal friend works in HR and she would say you are spot on with that statement and US middle management realizes this. That is why they have been the impetus for this push to get back to the office. They want to keep their inflated incomes flowing and realize the erosion of US based labor will eventually get them too. So the consistent message they have been pushing up since the end of 1Q through surveys and Jams is that wfh is the root of poor performance. They maintain that pressure is most effectively exerted in person And the Executive level is buying it hook, line, and sinker. After all, they too are grasping at straws and life jackets And it gets better, she shared they have further strengthened this assertion by provided feedback that due to "hiring cycles" a majority of our workforce is "less experienced" and would greatly benefit from an environment with more structure and controls. Get excited for 2022!!!

The office jobs in the US are mostly internal paper pusher positions.
They can all be dumped and nobody would miss them one bit.

Agreed; a WFH job is destined to become sooner or later an offshored one.

by

Those in the USA that think they can work permanently from home should expect their jobs to be eventually offshored.

The only people who are against WFH are ego driven Executives, who love flaunting their status in the office, cafeteria.
Now everyone has a corner office and don't have to give these useless importance craving execs any thought!

I know this as fact in F&O we will be allowed to wfh for at least all of 2022.
