I'm hearing rumors that all XBS parts departments will either be soon layed off or outsourced (probably to Ryder Logistics). Any thoughts?

Xerox doesn't want to inherit non-Xerox parts. XBS cores will continue to order, stock and ship these. Same goes for non-Xerox supplies. Although you may see parts employees slimmed down but not erased.
Leave it to xerox to make life 13 times more difficult than it needs to be. Penny wise and Dollar foolish. Everything always looks better on paper until you realize your account base is gone. Nothing ever changes.
The writing was on the wall as soon as GIS became XBS. XBS will start using ALL Xerox Direct processes and resources. Why would you not? It costs too much money and takes too many people to keep parallel but different processes in place. So why should the XBS cores stock and ship their own parts when Direct is doing the same thing? Imagine all that inventory that's being double counted in both supply chain streams. (And, the same thing will happen with Supplies too)
Not saying I agree with it, because there is probably some benefit with keeping local stock (delivery times, etc) but the writing was on the wall for this from day 1.
Death Spiral Begins
Nothing would shock me, heck they already have bots crediting invoices and doing meter reads....the less workers they need to pay the happier they are.
They should change their name from Xerox to Phillips because all they do is sc--w people
Would not surprise me. Just the start of stuff you never believed would happen.
Stay tuned.
