‘Raise’ confirmed my decision

I was hoping to get a raise. I’m not happy with how much I’m paid, I think I’m very underpaid, even compared to those who are at the same level. However, it ended up being a huge disappointment for me because I didn't get raise. I intended to leave for other things as well, but I thought I would stay here for a while longer, however, after this I am definitely giving notice. And I'm not the only one. My colleague too. I wonder how many more people decided to get out of here specifically after not getting a raise?

the best thing anyone can do is at least apply to other companies to gauge interest. Be upfront with your salary expectations and go from there.

Worst case, no one is interested
Other case, offer isn't good
Best case, offer is great and you can leave or use it for GF to make a counter or stay at GF and know you're worth more when you're ready

From post 2 days ago, you probably fell under option 3.

  1. Your band is too high
  2. You're paid at or above everyone at your level
  3. You were deemed expendable and not worth spending additional dollars to retain.

I am speaking for those in Singapore. With the government not allowing companies to hire foreigners as much as they used to be, companies are poaching each other for their expansion. Guess who is the loser?
In F7, pretty much half of the good engineers and managers are gone since 2020 and replaced by fresh grads. As a result, mediocre ones stay and get promoted. Good luck to those critical teams mostly supported by inexperienced engineers (nothing wrong with the freshies but the ship definitely has sunk). I jumped the first moment my boss asked me to do more without promotion last year.

Just got my offer after I countered from the electric car company today.

20% raise, 2x salary in equity, 10k in relo before I step foot in the door. Start date of 12/14

Only problem for me now is finding a cheap and reliable moving company, and canceling my lease that has 3 months left on it
