Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Topic of a call earlier this week was classic

So we had a call earlier this week and some new leadership was present. One of the guys moved in from a position outside of retail. He was pretty energetic ...the super kool aide drinking type. Anyway part of his conversation was comparing direct and indirect sales. He thought he was on to something because he questioned why there was such a disparity in growth especially pull through items in the indirect stores. One of the DM’s on the call chimed in and said “ maybe it has to do with corporate locations being on a different pay plan”. Oh it has EVERYTHING to do with that. It didn’t take Verizon long to see that there is a different mentality in the selling process based on your type of pay plan. The bottom line is that indirect stores are doing far more in growth then corporate locations.

It is 100% true that indirects ki-l it compared to corporate locations. The litmus test has proven that team commissions does not work. Let the tweaking begin.

Wow ! Those are some statistics, I remember 5 years or longer ago corporate store would dominate in every category against indirect of course that was back when corporate store actually had single commissions

Yeah our monthly download they show indirect numbers and they are crushing everything the company cares about, home protect, credit cards and pull through. If you can't understand why you're part of the problem. Out here in the west the leaders are part of the problem. They are clueless as to why indirect is making sales.

Vzw owned corporate stores are most likely on their way out.
