I got my final paycheck after PIL and my vacation was not on it. I’ve emailed payroll several times with no response. They usually don’t respond to me unless my supervisor emails them as well but my supervisor has blocked me. Yes, you read that right, my supervisor blocked me for asking for assistance in locating my money. I guess he didn’t feel like it was his problem. Anyway, how do I claim and get paid for my vacation?

I left in September and still haven't gotten my unused vacation payout. I thought it was a slow process but good thing I read this thread. I had feeling it was my lazy, useless supervisor is the reason why. HR isn't helping either, emails never get answered and calls lead no where. Old supervisor isn't answering my texts either.
At this point I'm going to have to ask a colleague to ping my supervisor on my behalf. Classic EM management.
It's bull$hit that the company holds onto the vacation pay. If you PILed out, the vacation due is pretty well established since the numbers are in SAP. Should not have to wait 4 weeks to receive the money you are entitled to. And the PIL was a fantastic 3 month paid vacation.
My mood, which needed significant improvement, has improved significantly. Miss the people that did the work, not the "supervision" or "management".
A pay in Lieu form needs to be sent to payroll with supervisors approval
@syi+1dNjBUco Thank you so much for providing the contact e-mail and phone number. I reached out and I got the information I needed, I just have to wait a couple pay cycles really. I moved right after getting NSId and my mail forwarding did not kick-in in time. Just looking forward to putting this whole thing behind me so I can focus on my new job.

You must be getting paid a lot for making these sort of comments. Shows your class
On your parents insurance...claims supervisor blocked you... sounds like an entitled twit that deserves the door
Your supervisor can suck one. I bet they are already sucking many...
Usually its paid out 1-2 pay cycles after your departure date. They were quick with it when I left for another job. Not sure if the PIL is different in terms of the vacation already being baked in, but I doubt it.
Your supervisor "blocked" you? Hmmmm...
ID: @gqm+1dNjBUco Thank you, HR never sent the cobra paperwork that was mentioned in the separation agreement. Luckily I’m still on my parents insurance so I will just skip on the cobra.
Contact your previous manager and/or administrative assistant.
You administrative assistant is supposed to fill out an electronic form which your manager approves electronically regarding your unused vacation (this should have happened before you were employment was terminated). Your unused vacation will be paid out separately by electronic deposit to your checking account or sent by paper mail if your monthly paycheck was not linked to your checking account.
The way I got mine was to call payroll in BA. The 800 number is on your pay check stub on the lower right. Actually very helpful.
Please anyone know where I can get the HR number or e-mail to contact as well? I have some vacation pay that I did not receive after my last PIL check. I’ll appreciate any help, thanks!
If you PIL'd, HR will send your COBRA rights within 30 days after notice. You will receive the forms to accept and acknowledge via snail mail, with all the information of how much your premiums will be etc. With COBRA, you get to keep all your health benefits as before, but you have to pay what EM used to pay for you. It will be slightly more expensive than the healthcare marketplace, but worth it if you're not covered elsewhere. COBRA automatically kicks in after your last day at EM even if you've not paid the premium and if you get sick prior to paying, you can still use that old insurance card of yours and you can retro-pay COBRA. That's COBRA there, protecting you.
If no one posts Wage Works number60 today I will tomorrow when I am back in H-town! You will get a letter from them in the mail in about 2 weeks. Good luck!
Cobra is handled by Wage Works an outside contractor. I don't readily have their number but hopefully someone on this site does and posts it. Good luck!
Your POS supervisor is responsible for filling out a Pay in Lieu form and sending it to BA. On your final pay statement there is an 800 number for payroll in BA. Call it and they will initiate contact with your POS supervisor. Make sure BA copies his boss and his bosses boss. Also keep your admin in the loop. Should take two weeks. Good luck!
@fuo+1dNjBUco Thank you, I will continue to be persistent and document everything. What about cobra? Also, if Exxon was my primary insurance but I already have another insurance policy, would cobra be a waste of money?
Based on my PIL experience, my unused vacation days lump sum was paid within 30 days after my last PIL pay. My then manager had to approve it though, after I emailed HR (who was responsive in my case). You have rights to that lump sum so I say be persistent with reaching out to HR.
I haven’t gotten my cobra information either so if anyone knows anything about that, that would be great. I have been emailing HR since the beginning of November and no one has responded to me at the payroll assistance email.
