Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

I wouldn’t even like to be a manager here.

If I don't leave before Christmas, I will leave immediately after. I wouldn't like to stay longer in this company, even if I was in a higher position. Simply, everything here has become so miserable, that I believe it is no longer a good place even for those who brought BBBY into this situation.

Yeah…totally agree with last post. Instead of worrying about there precious blueprint that NEVER makes any sense or remodeling how about get proper staffing? We know how to merchandise. That’s what got me hired 15 years ago!! Concentrate on fixing what you corporate geniuses broke.

There is nothing to manage! There is no staff. Hardly any inventory. Even less customers. Next to zero sales. Sure let's remodel and reset stores so they still look far inferior to competitors. Why not focus on core functions and appropriate staffing first? Oh duh, because that makes sense! Instead they milk whoever is left for all they are worth with no incentives whatsoever (unless you are still one delusional people who believe you will be compensated in May). I'm sure there will be another corporate hack that comes in here to say "Oh this is all retail!" Nope, it is not so take that bull elsewhere nobody believes it anymore.

“ I know I’m not as inadequate of a manager as this place makes me feel. “
I felt like this for so long. And after while you start to believe it and think you can’t go anywhere else. I have a great new job and I’m valued!

You can't expect much out of the Chief Clown of Stores.

There’s no one to manage!!!!! You don’t manage and train and bring up people anymore…you juggle systems and this d-mb technology!! A manager plans work and puts appropriate people on tasks puts out fires and is the support system in the organization. I don’t know what the f—k they expect of us anymore. I know I’m not as inadequate of a manager as this place makes me feel. And to all of you people that are regular associates…if there are any left out there…you do an amazing job with the little support you end up getting.

And in related news, when I looked out my window this morning, I saw the sky. You just described all retail. I hope you aren't planning to try to be a reporter.

Absolutely no balance in a life as a manager here. You will burn out. And then you will leave.

Chinese water torture is more enjoyable than being a manager at BBB.

The company is horrible. So glad I’m not there anymore. Management was so inept and sketchy. I don’t miss being an ops manager.
