The deterioration of the company culture is almost palpable. The constant uncertainty over potential layoffs, the frustration with the company's direction and the type of people who are getting promoted, the toxicity of all levels of management... It has all turned AIG into a horrible place to work that most people are looking to escape from. This place was never perfect, but it was certainly better than this.

Worked in multiple countries for AIG, the last few years in the field were the worst. My ‘Manager’ always said you have to do more with less and just piled on the work. Never helped out and created a real toxic culture. I know he was getting shafted from above but instead of setting an example, spent more time continuing that toxic work environment. If he made the wrong call on something it was because I didn’t provide enough information for him to weigh up options. I was the lucky one who got out. I don’t miss that place one bit.
Totally agree. Toxic people keep getting promoted.
A while back we had the chance to win a big account. Unfortunately the account went to our competitor because they are a better company. Duh.
I didn't lose a minute of sleep or worry about it in the least. The beautiful thing about working at AIG is that it really doesn't matter. You get the same check either way so really who cares?
If execs can pillage the company then I can collect years of easy checks where I really have no skin in the game. Wake up and start using AIG for what it is. Corporate welfare. Then start a side hustle. Win, win baby.
Yes....As someone who was disposed of in 2018 but was fortunate to have been there under Hank, the deconstruction of the company and the culture unfortunately has mirrored that of much of society in general.
