Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Question regarding stores that have closed due to covid post

“@2mhg+1d39NhDa 100% facts. Abusers and unvaxxed is putting it mildly. I work for HR in the Northeast and we have three stores under the radar for being shut down multiple times since covid. The stores are in central Connecticut , western Massachusetts and NY Metro. The employees of these stores should be given some type of reprimand but it’s a slippery legal slope. Reps and Managers alike continued to party and travel even in the heart of covid with no respect for anyone.”

I don’t exactly follow what you are saying here. Could the reps have caught the virus from customers coming in ? If that’s possible (which we know it is ) why are these stores and employees on the radar?

When is the last time anyone has seen HR in a store? They don’t care about retail reps and getting covid from customers.

Don't you all know covid is over? Obviously if you work in a store it's over, but if you are an office worker in VZ, don't return to office until December pending.

Brah I have several friends in the district that are on social media such as Facebook. Throughout Covid these peeps were all over the place in clubs and away on vacations .Its like they DGAF about their fellow coworkers. People went on vacations came back and tested positive. Im talking mostly last year and earlier this year. If a store was shut down several times take vaca pay or PTO from everyone involved.

I can’t speak of this particular situation but could offer an explanation. There is a strong possibility that all of the workers at these stores got covid outside of the workplace. Then they probably passed it to one or more reps/ managers in the stores. Remember Verizon has a covid team that follows through with contact tracing. They monitor things fairly well so when stores have been closed several times the past year and a half red flags go up. Now based on what the OP said apparently these stores had a lot of internal abuse with being around large gatherings and travel. I can believe this but I just don’t see any ramifications for it.
