Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

What about Macy's change in shopping hours?

Even before the pandemic, Macy's was having problems hiring. They have to realize that people don't want to work weekends nor nights. They have to change those shopping hours and provide better salaries. Believe me customer adapt to those changes like they did last year when we returned to work with fewer hours opened. Employees that make all the money are the ones that don’t work nights nor on holidays.

Pulled from thread +1cYryBlP. Last year was a different situation. What do you think, would customers get used to this change once again? While the idea is good, I still think customers would resent it.

The store that I work at will have the following hours for the upcoming weekend: Friday 10-10, Saturday 10-10, and Sunday even better 11-8.

What the customer is going to resent is going shopping and not having anyone for assistance because Macy's can't keep any new hires.
Things will never be the same. Maybe you want them to be because you are one of the lucky ones that sit all day in a office, sneaking out early, making a great pay check, not working nights nor weekend and treating your colleagues like slaves. Having them do multiple jobs so you can get your bonus by keeping your expenses low .

Really? All people did was complain last year when we had reduced hours. They will find anything to complain about....

As for salaried not working nights or holidays. Idk where you are but I close 2-3 nights a week and we rotate holidays. Work Memorial Day and 4th and off Labor Day etc

It’s fair and balanced between us red badges at my location.
