so 76,000 holidays employees equals to about 126 seasonal hires per 600 of the remaining stores.. Macys is pumping the numbers

In store, the holiday and flex workers tend to get better hours than the regular employees. They get to tell managers when they can work and their hours are manually put in. Obviously, they don’t want to close and usually don’t.
Ha ha ha
Joke .
Will never happen
Its not fake numbers its a Holiday Hire Estimate just like every other retailer. It drives application flow to provide minim staffing through the holidays based on sales goals. Every store (again like every retailer) has a minim and maximin employee count. One store may need 10, another store may need 100 based on volume and openings. Total it all up, then increase it as you can expect turn ( no shows, declined offers and so on) and publish your press release. Macys is not a strong retailer but with your logic every retailer has a big hiring lie in fall season.
the point is macys is making up fake numbers ., which is what they are doing with their stock price as well.. the whole company is just one big lie
@4wlp If I was a new hire and saw that I had to do everything that you list in your post and there was no one to train me, I would turn and run the other way. It took me months to learn my role and responsibilities. Other retailers are paying more with less stress.
There aren’t enough workers to train new hires. Also, it can take several weeks to months to do the following on your own: meet customers expectations, makes sales goals, open credit or bronze membership, make customers clients, text customers/clients from the register to come in for events, presell for events, search and send from the register for customers, complete fulfillment through the register, etc.
If you’re looking for a seasonal job where would you work? Best pay possible right so Macy’s at a disadvantage there plus the stress once a person sees how things are run especially in the stores.
Bad math there! You didn't count the fulfillment warehouses, service centers customer support, MCCS, etc.
CVS to Hire 15,000 This Year
Target to Hire 100,000 This Year
Lowes to Hire 50,000 This Year
The list goes on and on..
Get the idea here?
Even before the pandemic, Macy's was having problems hiring. They have to realize that people don't want to work weekends nor nights. They have to change those shopping hours and provide better salaries. Believe me customer adapt to those changes like they did last year when we returned to work with fewer hours opened. Employees that make all the money are the ones that don't work nights nor on holidays.People are tired of doing this for so many years and are looking for better jobs
Macy's has to increase wages if it wants to hire employees. We're in Southern California and can't hire anyone because everyone is paying more than us.
They wish!
Some of the seasonal hires will be in for a rude awakening with so little hours to work during the holidays.
