Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Retail store manager

Can anybody tell me what is the base salary for retail sales manager at Verizon? I got an offer but I believe I'm being lowballed. I've been trying to find it online but most sites have averages. Getting the info from somebody who knows would be great and I'd be really grateful.

As a rep, salary in my area was about 50K, starting SM pay was 60K, starting GM pay was 77K.

I was an SM who was capped out at 70K, so the 6K bonus raise was not worth the promotion/stress at all.

I checked with 2 other GMs in my district bc I was also surprised, and both of them had that low starting salary as well. Don't take the promotion, it's pitiful pittance.

As a rep I make 48k a year just in hourly and I’m not even the highest paid rep in the store. I think if a manager is promoted in our store it would only be fair for a GM to be making at least 10% more then the highest hourly employee. So that would put them at 60k plus the commission check.

55,000 to 60,000 average depending upon area. For multi store add another $5000.

They are going to offer as low as they think you will accept. You can counter offer but they will only come up 2k-3k at most. And in the counter offer they make you put it in writing why you deserve more.

Anything under 60k base pay for GM would be a no go for me. I think Verizon is trying to get GM base pay in low to mid 50k and assistant managers in the 40k-50k range.

The pay verys heavily depending upon the area you live in. The best way is to just ask other GMs in your district and new honest as to why you are asking.

Read a few months of posts from what retail is going through before worrying about the pay.
