Somehow I put up with this job because I only think of it as something that can help me pay bills to some extent, however, everything would be a lot easier if we didn’t have to constantly move the same things several times. I see this happening to others in other stores as well. I would like to know what is the rational explanation why we have to do this all the time ??? It makes no sense, we get tired for nothing.

Constantly moving things around is a "tradition" at Macy's. Don't question it! It happens!
However, it is important to COMMUNICATE changes at all level. I have seen floors change 3 times in two days due to miscommunication.
Exposure is one of the reasons for it. District or Regional executive looks at the numbers in the system and sees a certain vendor does not sell in your store but it's hot in another. Or, it's just not selling in all stores, so they move the non-sellers to high traffic areas of the store. High theft, discontinued, holidays, construction, etc. A good executive will partner and tell you the reason for the moves and at times listen to opinion of sales associates. There are several other reasons, OP/V executives are always aware of these moves.
This is a sign of a failing company. Actually continually moving merchandise around confuses the customer and costs sales in the longterm.
