I am afraid that even those who survive RIF, very soon after that could be targeted by new RIFs. I try not to worry too much, whatever happens happens, however, I resent Humani for letting employees be in such uncertainty. What's the point? To motivate people to find new jobs as soon as possible so that they can leave here without severance pay?

Agree- licenses I think will be a dig determining factor- because of the push to have everyone working up to their potential. Not sure what other criteria will play into the equation. This waiting is So hard. I just want to know if I have employment and if not I can start planning for my future. Good luck everyone who may be impacted.
@dmsv+1cnQFqLG, you are so right! I remember losing so many teammates with that first RIF, related to degrees and licenses…and given what they’ve said about restructuring and the whole restricted states stuff, it seems the licensing is going to be a big thing….but, add to that the issue of members and staffing. If you have 50 social workers, let’s say, licensed in CA (as an example) and membership only shows the need for 20, than 30 will be let go, even if they do have their license….
@dmsv+1cnQFqLG maybe for your program but not true in other programs.
I remember the time when they cut folks in Social Work roles that did not have degrees in Social Work. Which honestly seemed unfair at the time but having a degree in the actual field you practice should put you at an advantage it. They then moved to pushing all SWs to get a licensed then they wanted everyone to get multiple licenses and certifications likeCCM it’s always something. If you make the cut and only have a masters in SW you better get licensed or you will be out at the next round.
If find out 60 days advance they have to pay you those 60 days then plus severance. Plus most of time they give you 60 days they shorten later to 30 days but you still get paid full 60 days before severance
Humana been doing this every year and sometimes 2 or 3 times in a year for over a decade. Reach it
They post your job right after RIF you
Exactly so they don’t have to layoff as many and don’t look like the bad guys as much, plus not have to pay severance or unemployment
For sure, below poster, for sure…can’t say we weren’t warned/told about it
Yes good luck to all of us. With all this talk about licensure and working at the top of licensure.. I’m afraid they will start there..looking to see who has what license and in which states.
They want to give people as much notice as possible and let people consider taking voluntary severance. The alternative was finding out only 60 days in advance
I think they need to give everyone staying a HUGE raise for all the sh-t that they put faithful Humana employees thru.
I wouldn’t be surprised if those that survive this one aren’t impacted in a year by another restructuring….Humana is changing its business plan and target audiences and is a business so is always looking for reimbursement….that’s health care these days…is anywhere really safe anymore? People don’t have the same jobs anymore for 50 years and retire, like a generation or two ago. But, that aside, I would think since they are ramping up veterans outreach, anything in the government side would be more secure than the Medicare side
Well, I think it's just like you said. We might survive this RIF just to be cut in the next one. It might be better to move on now whether it's a different dept at H or new job at another company. Hard to say not knowing what criteria they'll use to decide. I'm just going to thoroughly weigh all my options. Good luck to everyone impacted.
