They will pay as little as they can get away with and without breaking the law. They see you as replaceable. The fact that you are still there after this slap in the face meant they got away with it. You need to expand your skills and move on. Don't take it personally, that's just how they are. They see all those positions as replaceable.

This is perhaps the best advice, @1bjv+1ck6ya9v, try to expand your skills. I am aware that this is the only way to get out of here as soon as possible and get better options and I am generally interested in what people are doing to expand their skills and become more marketable?
