“ Probably means 15% of the best, leaving 15% of the worst!”

The best and the brightest are already gone! No need to worry!

Dang axe man. Updates on no pending layoffs are such a letdown. Kind of like another lottery drawing I didn't win. So want to GTF out of this place so I don't have to deal with manager clowns anymore.

15%.

Probably means 15% of the best, leaving 15% of the worst!

This is not sustainable as a policy!

Ax-Man here, coming to you live from San Carlos, just across 101 from Oracle HQ.

All is quiet on the layoff front. No notable / significant layoffs planned any time soon.

Regular attrition has been running above 15% since the beginning of this calendar year, more than double normal attrition rates. This means that there is no need for layoffs of any kind.

Individuals may be let go in legacy orgs where their services are no longer needed, but in the majority of cases these individuals are self-deporting from Oracle. This negates the need to pursue an active layoff campaign.

The company’s move to “unlimited vacation” with no payoff for accrued leave at separation has paid off massively, and has so far contributed 9 digits to the company’s bottom line. We should have adopted this exceent policy years ago !!

Again — no (ZERO) layoffs planned of any size or significance.

My job is actually changing to one where I am being asked to look further into the future, given Oracle strategy, for teams to let go. What I am seeing, as OCI morphs from a general purpose public cloud into a cloud outsourcing/lift and shift shop, is that there is INCREASING REDUNDANCE within OCI, and likely some significant need for adjustment and optimization of resources within OCI.

So in the medium term, OCI is where I would be looking for future layoffs. For now though — everyone is safe and no layoffs planned.

"Have you received pressure to document everything?"

Nope. Only pressure I get is the occasional raw dogging by some manager clown. Luckily though they prefer their manager-only circle jurks, so I'm left alone most the time.

I sure hope so. God I hate this job.

I'm with you on that!
