Look at how long GR was allowed to incompetently mismanage IBM before they finally got rid of her ... AK isn't going ANYWHERE any time soon.

AK should has been planned not CEO by the end of this year and then Jim took the baton.
But Jim has left, the plan has been disrupted.

~2029. Why?

Look at the history of IBM's CEOs - it's easy to find on Wikipedia.

The average tenure of the past 4 CEOs is 8.75 years.

He'll be around at least 8 years. Buckle up.

Who cares. It’s not like he’s the problem at IBM. The problems go so deep it doesn’t matter who’s at the helm.

The BOD has been paid off years ago by the current executive club.
It will take activists investors and more lawsuits to change the companies direction. The worst of the worst of tech industry - has beens - are milking the cow to death until they retire. IBM is the easiest tech company to get into and used as a safety net or a way to negotiate with better companies with an IBM offer.

If there was any chance of AK getting the boot they would have tried harder to keep Whitehurst around. AK convinced the board he was the one to lead the company and they're the only ones that can fire him.

Not before he fully moves Ibm to India.

He will never get the boot, rather he will withdraw himself and then offer up to serve as executive consultant for some exorbitant fee. Why change something that works (for the executives)?

He’ll get at least 5 years to prove his vision for IBM. That will make him 63 IBM could easily extend him to 65 which would give him a 7 year tenure

Ummmmmm. . .considering how long they allowed Ginni to remain, I'll say it'll be at least 5 years before AK is shown the door.

I can't see the current board firing AK. I suppose the reason there is no shareholder revolt is because of the dividend.
