Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Pressure from leadership

Im being constantly pressured to perform despite great performance already. It’s becoming tiring to have my requests fall on deaf ears and then to be told I’m not good enough - because our numbers show otherwise even with a skeleton crew. Only one with incredible stupidity would lead a team with such talent and skill by demoralizing and demanding more.

Is the goal to remove all the staff? What are you going to replace us with? I have contacts across the country in VZ and it’s the same story all over. It’s pretty embarrassing to give your time, skills, love, and energy to a company that looks down upon its workforce with total apathy or often outright disdain. Have some respect for the people who are getting you paid.

Who the he-l cares about numbers besides management. If you can do basic math you would understand that selling more is pointless. Plus they can't fire you for numbers and also 99% of the BS they gripe on isn't even on your Performance agreement. Honestly it would be a blessing to get fired for numbers because you're going to 100% get unemployment and more time to look for a better job.

This company lost its integrity when they docked pay based on reps having an accent, their s-x or gender, perceived political belief and CDC mandates in surveys.

I’m not sure how long you’ve been with the company but there has never been a time (during my employment) that we are ever good enough.

People go to winners circle and they are told to do better.

You can be at 100% across all metrics and they will give you a “performing” for a review and tell you 110% would get you a leading. Next review your at 110% and now you need 115%.

It’s never ending. It’s greed based corporate mentality. It should be expected from them. You need to know your worth and not expect a company to determine that for you. If that’s what you need from your employer Verizon is not the spot for you.

I’m not saying this is correct behavior. It’s unhealthy and if you’re not in the right place mentally it will put you in a dark spot.

They call it fast paced and competitive but what really happens is severe burnout. Welcome to the life of a hamster, enjoy your wheel.

Yes, the goal is to replace all employees who knew what it was like to be compensated fairly. Job market is still hot, why not try interviewing at a couple of places and see what happens? You may even let it slip that you are interviewing elsewhere....
