So in order to be factual I wanted to let all you Vteamers know I made $4,879.12 this quarter from Verizon's dividend payout.

I started pulling out of 401k before I retired. I was a banker before I became an Engineer. A professional managed portfolio, managed for income, beats our 401k every month. My manager uses Fidelity. Last month long term funds were above 30%. Short term around 12%. Constant living expenses and long term care covered by annuity. Still have not started Social Security or my little GTE pension. I spent 13 years as a banker before Cellular One was invented.

So glad I was laid off and then rolled my $800k 401k into an IRA and then I could choose much better performing stocks than Verlieson. $20k a year in dividends is chump change!

VZ -2.64 % (52 week) S&P index up 36.45% Your investment election even with the dividend underperformed. Other than your Bond or Cash options in your 401k you could have not done worse. I probably would stop giving out financial advise if I were you!
Next to no chance Verizon increases dividend payouts.
