This should not be a surprise to anyone who knows anything about CVS. As a former Store Manager who wasted many of my best working years in this prison, if you are not one of the elite, you are trash. Rules are randomly applied based on who you know, not what. For example, District Leaders are required to have pharmacy degrees, unless you are a white, elitist male who happens to be friends with the former COO, Kevin Hourican. As female leaders in our stores or pharmacies, we were regularly treated as incompetent and incapable, and often fired so we could be replaced by men. There is no such thing as equality or fairness in this company. Go to the CVS Leadership page. Do you see a any minorities represented there? Not a single person who is not Caucasian. What could they possibly know about racial equality? They don't deal with anyone they consider inferior, and that group includes most of the employees. This company is a white privileged company at every single management level. The last token female CEO barely lasted a year - do you want to make a bet on how long Karen Lynch is going to last? She's a PR stunt, just like everything else they do. What a bunch of hypocrites!
