Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

There is life beyond WF

I've been gone from WF for just awhile to finally see how miserable I was working there. Whoa!

My whole perspective on life has changed in the short time I've been gone. I was not about to relocate after being told to work remote in two different roles pre-covid while my bosses worked from home all the time, wear masks all day after getting vaxed, or continue babysitting so many people above me who couldn't take accountability for doing their jobs. The team I was on was a babysitting team and I've never worked anywhere where I've had to manage up so much to people who make 2 to 4 times what I make! My boss used to say "oh we should send a reminder email to xx yy and zz to remind them this is coming due soon." Huh?! They can't manage their own due dates?! Are these working professional adults or children?! No thank you!

I now work remote in a new job and I'm valued. I got out of financial services altogether because it's a terrible industry to work in, did it for years! More executives need to be in jail and or barred from the industry. The FS industry is chock full of jerks, arrogant and rude people who think their schitt don't stink and who only care about themselves and their careers and agendas and many couldn't balance my check book let alone talk intelligently about what an internal control is. Get out, all these posts on this site are proof of how miserable they want you all to be. Run, grab your boot straps, pull yourself up and GTFO asap.

Agreed, left FSI and much happier. Less regulation, less corporate chokehold culture. In fact I think more tech workers should leave FSI.

Don't blame the bank for you not being able to pull muster in banking. You don't seem very intelligent so its going to be a painful experience for someone like you. Some folks simply aren't cut out for it.

Good reminders, OP! Glad you got out! My friends and family read my texts about work back to me sometimes and ask me if it's really so bad or am I blowing off steam. I sent them the link here.

Now it's like a horror movie with everyone telling me to GET OUT! Believe me, I am working on it but I know what bad is so I am being VERY cautious about where I look or consider going.

Thank you for sharing your story. I too am miserable here at WF. The Unknown, Change and Moving on is hard but this post makes me want to be active and not passive.

Why would someone who's found another job and living the dream, waste their time to show up on a layoff board. My life is great here, work is meaningful, have friends here, pay is decent. I don't want to be laid off. I worked at other banks, the grass isn't always greener, it can be far worse than here. Your remark about executives needing to be in jail and other hate speech tell me though that you never worked here, you're a troll, admit it.
