Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Does this kind of culture suit them or what?

The company culture has never been worse and I don't think I'm exaggerating at all because some colleagues who have been here much longer than me can confirm that. There is no need for me to put up with it anymore because there are other banks that I can go to.

The only thing that is still unclear to me is whether those at the top are aware of how toxic the culture here has become? Sometimes I wonder if this kind of culture actually suits them?

but, but, but .... what about the once a year Employee Appreciation Day ? “Management “ brings donuts. Doesn’t that make everything better? And don’t forget, we can always throw ourselves a holiday party.... they buy the ham. We bring everything else. So generous.

I worked at SunTrust for years before finally escaping. For years, my family and friends laughed at my stories of how lazy, ignorant of the world and different cultures, and insensitive the leadership was. To say the managers had no people skills would be an understatement..... and I don’t mean the ability to socialize with other managers.

Most senior managers had worked there for decades, never lived much of their adult lives outside of Georgia, and if they worked at another organization, it was for only a few years right out of college, if that.

They didn’t pursue further education because they were being promoted for already being part of management, not for excellence/knowledge. This meant only people already in manager roles were further promoted.

In response to annual “teammate” Surveys, there would be a million meetings and then a announcement of “We feel your pain and need for real advancement opportunities: You may wear jeans on Fridays.”

At my new job at a different company, the incompetent SunTrust management stories are still good for laughs. (People don’t really believe how awful management was ( but I don’t even have to exaggerate).)

I am sorry for those unable to escape. But if you find you can, there may be a much better world out there,

It's SunTrust culture, I worked for them years ago, and they were the most backstabbing BSO's, none of them ever took any accountability for their actions. If something went wrong, they would pin it on everyone but themselves. Horrible culture, horrible bank that now is Truist. It's sad, shame on you Kelly! MOE is such BS!
