Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Elizabeth Warren

For all the so-called men who can’t take a strong confident woman being in a leadership position:

Elizabeth Warren is not some random senator who keeps picking on poor innocent Wells Fargo. She is a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. And Senator Warren’s responsibility is to work on legislation related to financial services and the economy, housing, urban development, and other issues, and participates in oversight of federal regulatory agencies.

Senator Warren is 100% correct. There is NO EXCUSE for Charlie Scharf and his new expensive leadership team for not getting the work done on time. Unfortunately, working hard means nothing. Charlie’s job is to set us on the path of working smart.

We need strong decisive unified goal-oriented leadership who is spending money on technology, not corporate stock buybacks. Leadership who is focused on hiring the best and training the best, not depending on third party vendors who have zero skin in the game. Leadership who is focused on getting the high- priority work done before cost cutting.

Charlie is making WAY too much money to be failing on his most important goal. The Board hired a chef who can’t cook. And unfortunately they have allowed him to bring in all his buddies who don’t know how to cook either.

They need to cut him out now before he drags us all down more than he already has.

The guy that said she wouldn’t go after big tech was on a thread that the mods locked down.

Literally no one in this thread asked why she doesn’t go after big tech…

For the galaxy brain who asked why Warren doesn't go after big tech...

From 2019, took me all of two seconds to do a websearch, but the people who call everyone who doesn't agree with them socialists don't like to be fact checked.

@zbo+1cQrlR43, yes, and if that were to be stated, she would be just as wrong as the original post's terminology.

I think what the OP is stating is that if Elizabeth Warren were actually Elijah Warren, many folks would have no objections.

OP, bringing up gender is an straw man argument. No one argued that because she is a woman that this is this or that is that. Try a different argument. People aren't that stupid anymore. We caught on to those cheap tricks years ago. You are living in the 1960's.

There is a difference between a criminal enterprise such as Enron and (soon-to-be convicted heads at) Theranos versus a corp like WF. Wells engaged in specific inappropriate / deceptive acts over a short period of their long history. But they continued to do an overwhelmingly high degree of appropriate acts in their daily works.

Please do not forget that WF has been called out as a criminal enterprise - and admitted it - multiple times in the past few years.
Name a few other banks that got caught out like that.

Any of the shots people take against Warren are petty and immature, meant to distract demean and invalidate her. Lowlifes can manage to put a negative spin on anything and anyone and if unable to do so: they make bs up.

Harry Markopolos tried to warn officials for years that Bernie Madoff was a fraud. They ignored him, said he was incompetent and obsessive, called him a liar and self-righteous.
But he was right, and everyone else was wrong.

Wells Fargo deserves to be called out. The bank’s leadership is incompetent at best, and is scamming everyone for their own personal gain at worst. Either way - it has to stop. Charlie has to be stopped.

Charlie has spent too much money and too much time on Window Dressing, attempting to manipulate a more favorable view of the company to regulators and shareholders. Just do the work! Replacing incompetent old leaders with more expensive incompetent new leaders has accomplished nothing.

It tells me everything I need to know about Charlie’s priorities that he is spending $18 Billion on company stock buybacks rather than our antiquated technology, which is unable to meet regulatory demands and is hampering key business lines.

The indisputable fact remains that he has failed to meet regulatory deadlines, and he has failed to get us out from under the asset cap.

she can be right that CS is ineffective and wrong about company breakups. The idea that a company WFs size can't be managed is a joke, plenty of businesses larger than WF.

Warren is a known liar and cultural appropriationist. She's as "native American" as Frosty is black. What committees she sits on is irrelevant, committee selection isn't based on anything but loyalty to party and Senate leadership. She couldn't bank her way out of a wet paper bag. She literally had to have staffers research things on Amazon because she can hardly navigate the site. Other than that, sure, she's brilliant and an expert in all things. Gender has nothing to do with it, other than the fact that if she was a white man instead of a white woman, the whole pretend-to-be-native-anerican thing would have been the end of 'his' political career.

What does this have to do with gender?

Warren can be correct about Scharf and still be political trash that should have been taken out and dumped a long time ago.

I don't care what committees she is on. It doesn't validate her. She is and always will be a low life politician.

Just to be clear - internal politics and morale aside - she wants the company busted into component parts for sale. about like Lehman Bros but slower.
The foundation for this call is WF's essentially criminal policy and activity multiple times in the past decade or so. The discovered activities.

But all your points are equally valid, from a stockholder and employee perspective.

We need a CEO to fix issues and preserve the company.

Not grow the company and slash expenses. What experience does Charlie have with risk management?

Look he who he hired. What experience do they have? What big issue has Mandy ever fixed? Name one.

Getting someone to write the RMF and then assume people are complying with it is not an accomplishment. That’s id--tic. And yes... almost no one is complying with it or any related initiatives. Control taxonomy? Huge disaster. Enhanced RCSA implementation? Even bigger disaster.

Is anyone accountable for anything? Anyone?
