Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Interview process with VZW

Hi. I applied to remote csr with verizon and did the recorded interview and passed the assessment. I am doing some ‘blue jeans’ virtual thing next, which I hope means I have the job. For anyone remote, what does verizon give you to start work as far as equipment? Do they give a company cell phone for use? And from your experiences does it seem like I’m in since I am schedule d after the assessment/virtual interview for another thing in the bluejeans app?

Thanks for the feedback! (Original op) I’ve done wireless for 9 years so I know how awful it is. I just seriously need the higher pay. Stress doesn’t bother me, I managed a store for those 9 years and was micromanaged to death. I do a WAH job now which is temp for minute clinic doing covid 19 support calls. Nothing is worse than this haha. I’m looking forward to the money, that is the one thing I miss about wireless. If it’s offered I’m definitely going to take it and probably hate it. The eye is on the prize which is early retirement and making as much $ possible. Ty again!

You don’t get a company phone if you’ll be working in Care. You get everything you need to work from home, but take these other people’s comments to heart. While VZW pay and benefits are good, the stress this job brings is not worth it. Many of my colleagues have severe mental health struggles (myself included) from working for VZW.

Sounds like its not worth it. You should find another company that cares about their employee's success bc this one don't.

Take it from me, I came from a store and thought why is the training so long, I came from a store so it can't be that hard? Surely I know most of it anyway. WRONG! There is so much to learn, different systems, how to find what you need, doing the jobs of 25 people and very demanding customers. Training was 3 months long at the time and this was when we still were in the centers which helped. I had a friend that also worked in the store for 11 years that came to the center and could not handle how hard and different it was from the store so they quit. This was the case with a lot of store reps that came to the center. I felt bad for the new reps, if we thought it was hard and we came from the store how are new reps suppose to feel? Now that we work from home it is 10 times harder. There is no support what so ever. 1 manager has 20 plus reps and can't be bothered. The systems are ridiculously slow and don't work... It's just getting worse. If they offer you a job, don't take it. You will regret it.

Coming from someone who has been with verizon over 20 years. I have had my bad days and good. Give it a chance and you may advance well. Verizon offers great benefits such as vacation, healthcare and phone service discounts. If you are a CSR you don’t get a free phone or service but the discount is pretty good. If you’ve made it past the 1st interview congratulations but be ready for some pretty intense training and schedule over the next few years as you progress.

You more than likely got the job. We need more help in Customer care. Congratulations. I got a company phone when I started with the company three years ago ( in retail). Doubt you’ll get one but Verizon will send you two monitors and a modem that is pretty easy to set up . Anything other questions just ask
