Has anybody heard anything about more layoffs being on the way? I think if they mandate vaccines it won't be necessary, enough people will quit rather than be forced to get a jab. But if there's no mandate, then I think we might be looking at another round of cuts pretty soon. Gotta pad those numbers...

Three full timers were terminated at my store last week for nonsense. It has started, We shall see what this week holds.
The only way your job at Lowe’s is safe from a potential elimination or layoff is if you work in corporate or area/regional staff. Period.
Once the job applications fills up to a predetermined point corporate will start eliminating all of the higher paid workers, that's the plan. It was scheduled for end of Q2, the extra unemployment benefits kept the labor supply tight. Now that it has ended the applications are coming in and they are looking at mid to late October. FT will be either "managed out" or have their positions eliminated depending on job title. Higher paid PT workers will see their hours cut, tapering down to zero.
Everyone that has worked for Lowe's for any length of time knows they layoff every year in the fall. They will either automate it, eliminate it or sub it out to third party. Never fails. You should always keep learning so that you can make a change to another job or company. Lowe's guarantees nothing.

I think full/timers are guaranteed 39 hours. But I could definitely see the company eliminating more in-store positions. But hey, at the same time let’s go create 3 new area or regional positions where they do absolutely nothing! Yea that’s it!
Lowe’s cut more jobs? It’s like laying in the woods with a bloody leg and the wolves are howling in the dark. You know they are coming for you eventually. You can bet on it.
If they cut Full-time to 32 hours I walk out immediately. And I'm sure half my store will follow.
