@5paw+1cIy3J9V One might consider that both groups, vaxxed and nonxvaxxed, are part of an experiment and both groups are taking a risk. One just has to weigh the potential worst case outcomes from each scenario (infection while vaxxed vs infection when no vaxxed). There’s no avoiding being a participant.

They should have made a movie about the lives if people getting the vaccines. They are a live experiment!

@1coc - the company HAS mandated mask use at the Clinton site, anywhere outside of single -occupancy offices.

So the vaccinated can walk around unmasked and easily infect the unvaccinated. Which are more likely to go the hospital and clog the ER. Hilarious.

Whether wearing a mask or not, accepting the vaccine or not, working at XOM is no longer a status symbol, regardless of position. O&G will eventually fall by the wayside like having an 8 track player. There are some really good people and some extremely talented individuals, both full hire and contract, it no longer is "the place" to work or even be associate with any more. Wishing everyone the best, do what you need to do to survive financially, mentally and physically. Good luck.

If you’re vaccinated, then you’re supposed to be protected against the original SARS-CoV-2 virus, the alpha variant and, to some extent, the delta variant. If that’s the case, you should be OK around unvaccinated people, regardless of whether they’re wearing masks. But I would agree that it would be better if the unvaccinated wore masks.

But even if you’re vaccinated, you could still transmit the virus to someone else. So that means that you should wear a mask when you’re in proximity to other people, vaccinated or non-vaccinated.

Being vaccinated simply reduces the probability of the vaccinated person suffering life-threatening symptoms if they contract the virus. So it shouldn’t matter to you whether your colleagues are vaccinated, as long as you are.

For once they are treating us like adults.

I wish they would extend this behavior to other areas like applying for our next position by having open job postings or deciding how best to complete our work whether it is to come to the office or when to work from home.

But I know better. It will never change.

The Governor of Texas just called a special session to ban vaccine mandates in the state. He’s already done this with masks.

The company will never mandate masks or the vaccine. It has a vested interest in cozying up to the Governor, especially given that he is likely to run for President in 2024.

Sad, but true.

@1lja - it’s not the boomers, snowflake.

@1aw - What right has the corporation to mandate that all employees must be vaccinated ? Do you think the corporation should mandate all other health care choices (even ab-----n) for their employees ? No ? Well shut up then !

Shocked by how many choose not to wear masks, although clearly stated we should be wearing.

Seems that part of our core values is “illness free workplace”.

This is the first real opportunity to take action on that core value.

Are current actions in line with that core value?

Clearly the management must have a high level anti-Vaxxer. We are such incompetent hypocrites. If we are not penalizing unvaccinated employees (higher health care costs) or forcing to work from home then we are doing nothing.

@1ipl+1cIy3J9V thanks for sharing. This is def. a joke and continues to show that the MC has 0 interest in protecting their claimed top assets - people. I don't have any words. E&PS like other organizations are at the mercy of the MC and the claimed lowest paid CEO and the claimed lord of this company.

@1hvy+1cIy3J9V Here you go….
We greatly appreciate your efforts as we continue to navigate the Delta Variant. It is good to see more people wearing masks. As a reminder, we expect unvaccinated individuals to be doing this and vaccinated individuals to use your judgement based on your situation. Navigating meetings can be challenging and as a reminder if social distancing cannot be maintained during in-person meetings, unvaccinated individuals should wear a face covering during the duration of meeting, or attend the meeting virtually. Good practice to plan ahead vs sorting this out at the meeting.

We ask that you please stay home if you have any symptoms. Recently, we have seen more people with a ‘runny nose’ or ‘congestion’ test positive, so please consider this a symptom- it may not be ‘just allergies’. Thank you for your continued flexibility as we navigate this pandemic together.
