Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

What’s behind the CL curtain?

How do the higher CLs equate to positions and salary?
Here’s what I understand (and some guesses) to start the conversation:

39-40: President / Corporate VP, $1M?+ total renumeration
37-38: SVP, $700-900K
35-36: VP / Major Country General Manager, $600-800K
33-34: GM / Senior Project Manager / Refining or Chemical Director, $500-700K
32-31: Production Manager / Plant Manager / Project Manager / Division Manager, $400-600K

why the downvotes to @1bfq? and it's not even a secret that Rex Tillerson CL was 52...

I didn't know CL 43s know this board exist... can they share what's their salary... a big enough (so that you are still anon) but accurate range would be so eye opening

A bit off topic:

I was an experienced hire (engineer) coming in at an CL28. My hire date was the year 2000.

Back then we were still getting paper pay stubs by mail to the home. I open up my very first EM stub and it was for $50,000 for two weeks work. I thought WOW. But, it was obvious to me that they had over paid me. I called payroll to let them know. They weren’t surprised at all. After thinking more about it, and payroll’s indifferent reaction to it, it dawned on me that there must be some within EM who were indeed making $50,000 twice a month.

I finally retired from EM at a pretty good salary but it never got even close to $50,000 twice a month, ha!

Personally, I’m a CL 43 and I’m not even in Dallas. It actually goes up till 50 after the new assessment process.

Way to low...President of a bigger company like XOM oil and gas company is $4 to 7 M...This salary must compete with CEO level of Marathon & COP etc which earn 8 to 12 M.
SVP will be 2.5 to 4 M, VP will vary widely $1 to 3M depending on age and ranking. The curve is a pinnacle not a pyramid. No different than an ace pitcher vs a reliever or closer....huge differences in the final CL35 to CL 40 levels. Plus stock price makes a huge difference because of RSU. 50 to 60% of comp is stock based, so it varies alot with stock price.
Dallas level CEO and SVP in Dallas is published $10 to 20M, depending on stock price with 70% of compensation stock based.

Is there really a CL 40? I heard once that the upper levels were not classified.
