I have finally separated from Verizon. I am so optimistic about my future, and I all the good things I deserved at Verizon (and never got) will now be within arm’s reach.
Get out while you can. Your time is your most precious resource. Don’t let them deplete it out of your own fears and anxieties about re-entering the workforce.
I have seen Verizon at it’s peak, and at… whatever it is now, but the bottom line is: Verizon is no longer the company it sells itself to us to be. It is the shell of its former glory, and leadership is painfully aware of this face. But they lie to your face, each and every day, and sell you the Credo.
Your managers, in any capacity, are no different than ponzi scheme organizers. They’re peddling fear and selling you on a pipe dream.
One other thing, why do you think it is that Verizon loves military hires so much? It’s because they do what they’re told to do and don’t ask questions. By default, they submit to the wills of those higher up the ladder. Sprinkle a few of those in stores, and that’s how you end up with retail stores gutted and short-staffed with the lowest payouts in history. These “yes men” serve only one purpose and it is to ease dissent in the store. A positive mental attitude can only go so far when you’re deprived of all of the things Verizon promised you.
Anyways, good luck to all of you, especially those in retail stores, I really sympathize with you. It’s criminal what they’ve done to you. They know, their bosses know it, and your manager knows it.
