Health insurance canceled during PIL

Hey y’all, I accepted the PIL in early August. I was told that my medical insurance would last for three months because I’m technically still an employee but I just found out that the company actually canceled my insurance on the 31st of this month. What can I do?

I think the only way this would occur is if they reclassified you as a firing, and unless you did something to really irritate people on the way out, it's not worth their time to do this. Likely an honest F up from XOM. When I left, they screwed up the offer for the pension, and I got to cash out after XOM was legally required to offer the offer,

Either something is not right or they have become more dirty and stooped even lower if that is possible anymore. It should be the entire three months.

@1mif+1cGdXtzz it needs to be more than reinstated, it needs to be extended by the time that it was canceled inaccurately. And with the affordable care act requiring health insurance and the employer paying for it, I wonder if this is lawsuit worthy.

I would call the benefits office. I have a friend that went though this and she called in and it was reinstated immediately. It was someone's mistake on their end.

Please chime in if any others have the same situation.
This is about as class-action as it gets.
Even in Tejas.

If you are getting a paycheck, they must provide the insurance (match) also.
Probably an error was made.
And you should receive Cobra information shortly as well.

If this becomes a chronic situation for PiL personnel, this is a huge legal snafu.
Report to all relevant authorities (and I don't mean EM).

You remain on payroll and continue to receive all benefits for 3 months. Still an employee during the PIL.

What’s the business service center phone number? The paper work says benefits last for 3 months

You should receive health insurance through company while PIL. Call the benefits service center. People received it last year while on PIL.

Read the paperwork you signed. It will spell out the offering very clearly. If it included insurance past the 31st of this month, then contact HR (Or whatever specific email or phone number is on the paperwork you signed, if any)

If the paperwork is correct, and someone verbally told you something different, then the paperwork is correct. Whether they intentionally misled you or just made a mistake, the outcome is the same. Usually when this happens, someone just made an honest mistake in trying to answer the question. However, whatever you signed is the reality. Check it out and act accordingly if your insurance was supposed to last longer.
