I put out about 10 resumes this weekend, will do more this week. Looking for market/higher pay and better working conditions.

You show signs of Inhibited integrity. Your values, what you think, say, and do are not all aligned. Cloud deployments is new technology and it obviously is in demand if your boss is asking you to learn it. You then say your not learning it because AI will replace it soon. If you value cutting edge then learn something cutting edge and find a company that will hire you to use that knowledge. My guess is you don't take that action though and will point to some AI just around the corner that will do the cloud deployments. So few take the first step.

Why anyone would reward a company that is wasting money on commercial office space is beyond me. That's pi----g money away. You can end hundreds, maybe thousands per month in expenses, per employee, with a one-time cost of remote access seat and a token.
Just remember, that same remote access seat and token can be used OFF-SHORE. Be careful what you wish for.

learning a tool, they call new here that has been out for years, is not smart. There are newer and better technologies, so learning this tool that wont be in use in the next 18 months. This will all be done with AI and more current technologies The tools are already obsolete. I plan to be ahead of the game

Why anyone would invest in a company so heavily devoted to office space when office space is beginning an existential crisis is beyond me. The ground has shifted under management's feet regarding being in-office, especially in the IT environment.

Working for a company that requires you to be on-site isn't going to be where you're working with the best. It's going to be a sign of having a sub-par skillset, or some other unemployable behavioral trait.

Good for you, take the bull by the horns. People typically just look for another job though and don't post to a forum that they applied to 10 jobs.
