Thread regarding Raymond James Financial Inc. layoffs

anniversay coming up!

got on at Chase earlier this year..and we've brought in a lot of former Ray Jay folks. At least Chase is loading up on IT folks. My hiring manager asked me what was going on at RJ and thought it seemed kind of weird given what he knew about the situation. I declined comment. RJ gave me some good years and flexibility to not miss family time or functions. I'm actually making almost 15% more than I was at RJ. I"m not going to say 'being let go was the best thing for me' but it wasn't the worst. Learning new things has actually given me a boost of sorts. I feel for those who haven't found jobs and I actually feel for some of those still left at RJ. I think on the anniversary I'll pour a glass and toast to a better future.

I am sad for the 550 let go for no reason. I looked for a job for a couple months, took unemployment, tried applying for a RJ job and now started collecting SS at 63. Not how I envisioned my life at this point. I worked hard at RJ and now I would personally like to thank Paul for ruining my life.
