I'm too scared to accept it, though. I'm not too happy here but mostly that's due to the constant fear of layoffs and often being overworked. Other than that, I like my job and the people I work with. The new job comes with more pay but I'd be the newcomer, so if there're any cuts I'd probably be the first to go. That would hardly solve my 'stressing over possible layoffs' issue. I'm unsure of what to do...

I have been through several layoffs. It has nothing to do with how long you have been in a position. I kept a job only being with them 3 years when people that had been here 10 to 15 were let go. So don't let that sway your decision
I heard/read (on this site, I believe) that if you are offered a position and do t take it that they could deny unemployment…..I may be wrong, so ask HR. That might help you decide.
Congrats
Go for it! Take that new job! Humana will have more layoffs next year, promise!
Take the new job. If you make it through this round of layoffs another round is coming soon. Have a little stability in your life at this time. Especially if it’s more money
Congratulations on your job offer! I would say make a list of pros and cons. Humana and other companies as well can be unpredictable especially in this volatile economy. I do agree with the above poster who stated the job market may become more challenging once layoffs are announced and more people are applying for the same job. Best of luck to you!
I’ve been with Humana for 9 years and have been through 3 now my 4th reduction. I have survived so far but I don’t stress to much. I’ve decided to ride the wave as I always done. If you are truly that worried just take it. Might be beating the rush of having a bunch if us trying to compete for the same job. Good luck
